Just a reminder not to cross the line, BF does have rules we all abide by regarding mental health issues and unacceptable comments and jokes. Feel free to discuss any topic reasonably but please think before you post.
And please stick to the topic only.
Thanks.

Gary went into hiding and claimed a conveniently timed 'mental health' break too. It's PR101 these days

Get caught
Claim mental health so media leave you alone
Move on without real consequence
You don’t think that maybe people just aren’t made to cope with the level of media scrutiny that comes with being a well known person and making a big blunder?

Hird, Lyon, Patton, Franklin....they’ve had to deal with the fallout of every man and his dog taking a swing....but are you suggesting that it’s just a ploy?

I think you’re underselling just how consumed by this you would become once you’ve got no job security, media sitting outside your house, cameras following you everywhere, your friends and family being pestered...and the guilt of what you’ve done starts to set in.

Maybe it’s not PR101, but rather just common place for people to fall in a hole when the whole world wants a piece of them.

I’ll just point out that a few of us posted the more mild screen grabs doing the rounds a few weeks back, which were promptly deleted even though any amount of lewd commentary remained. The Daily Mail is now running with any number of a screen grabs that are many times worse than what we posted.

I’m astounded the HUN had a new Patton article in its top 5 stories every morning for 4 days. None of them mentions the girl making the accusation flashes her own gear on only fans.

I don't think flashing your gear is the issue.

It's flashing it to people that either aren't expecting it don't want to see it.

Convenient timing of 'mental health' only comes after someone has been caught. Very convenient indeed

The emotion Patton and Lyon feel is guilt
Hird the media storm was ridiculous. I can't stand the arrogant prick but felt for him through that saga
Buddy huge reputation for drug use then people act surprised there's a come down or it negatively affects his health...

No humans aren't meant to be able to deal with the media shit storm they get. They also wouldn't have to if they didn't do the wrong thing whilst in the public eye? They get paid tremendous money to do a job they like, the only negative is a bit of media? Diddums

Pattons mental health was convenient, as was Garry's. Used as a ploy to get the cameras off them for a bit. I'm not saying they don't feel bad, they would. We all do when we get caught doing something we shouldn't. Grown-ups don't then cry 'mental health. Balees. Can't touch me' afterwards

I've always wondered why people, and society for that matter, draws such different lines in the sand between 'real life' and the internet?

Can you stand up on soapbox on a street corner and defame someone? No.
Can you go to a dinner party and say controversial and offensive things without someone calling you out on it? No.
Can you show someone your slug in the street? No.
Can you rummage through your wife's handbag? No.
Can you and your mates stand around someone at work or school and bully them relentlessly? No.
Can you stalk someone? No.

There's a bunch of stuff that we'd all kind of agreed on over the past 400 years that you just can't do. Not all of it is illegal of course, but it's still pretty clear what can and can't be done, and what should and shouldn't be done.

I don't think the internet changes any of this shit.

No, don’t be stupid. But it’s relevant to the story. It’s within the public’s interest for this fact to be reported.

In the public interest??

Really?

Just because the public is interested in something, does not mean it's in the public's interest!

But extreme levels of guilt, and embarrassment can easily impact your mental health. As I said earlier, I'd be shocked (and concerned) if it didn't impact a person's mental health.

There's a fairly big difference mental health, and mental illness. Most people on here clearly do not understand this.

No, we understand it, we just don't feel sorry for someone who's done the wrong thing then cried 'mental health' at a convenient time to suit their needs. Those needs caused by their own decisions

What's different now is the self entitlement of people......especially younger people.

People use mental health as an excuse and a shield to protect themselves from negative outcomes due to poor choices.

And it's not just mental health.

Just admit that you stuffed up and hurt others, stump up and accept it. Appologise with real sincerity, learn from your mistakes, don't make those mistakes again and move on.
Jesus i wish you were right, and that the young people i directly know were not clinically depressed, had attemptred suicide and had serios crippling mental health. Jesus i wish you were right...but you're not, you're not.

Really doesn't have the alpha mindset, does he?
Nope. The other screenshots are far worse.
Note the years too. This isn't just a recent thing for him.

Oh god.....the mental health card has been played.

Do we have to feel sorry for him now? We have to collectively put our arms around him to show support?

No.

What he’s feeling right now is probably embarrassment and shame.

Own it.....this is on you.
Mental health is not some friggin card. To be 'played'. Seek first to understand i reckon. I know it takes time.

But my point is, he's surely not 'crying mental health' though. Surely his mental health has genuinely been impacted.

Isn't that what people want? To see him feeling bad about shit?

Well of course.

You only feel your heart pumping once you see the flashing blue lights in the rear view mirror.

No surprise that once people get caught out and the media spotlight turns on them that they have mental health issues.

It’s not a ploy, just how feeble the mind can be when under duress.

That's why so many are calling him out. It is a serious issue and too many in the public eye cry 'mental health' as a get out of jail free card

They trivialize mental health for their gain and in turn make the public think less of actual mental health issues...

It’s called context. In no way am I trying to condone the actions he’s been accused of. But this story being milked day after day by these trashy websites is toxic. I’ve read online that he’s a predator and he’s fkd a dog but you can’t say the source of the story sells herself on only fans?? Cmon!!

The girl that owns the only fans agreed to see him lol not sure why she is trying to expose him. You sell your body online for money... but complaining about a pic you probably asked for. She seemed very suss in her interview.
