It's almost as unlikely the person behind the rumour is about to be prosecuted as it is that the rumour is true.
These things don't see the light of a court room 99.99% of the time.
There is a .01% margin of error in those numbers. Hopefully old mate gets caught and shamed if the silly fellow made that up, but he ain’t going to be prosecuted for anything.

Is Patton still part of hawks best 22?

Unfortunately yes...Had he been fit, he would have been starting at full forward in round 1...shows where we are at at the moment...

Playing Patton, O'Brien and Lewis will never work, especially with how bad our midfield is at delivering the ball inside 50.

The good news is, at least Mitch Lewis, despite being an absolute spud last season (had a limited pre-season due to a shoulder reconstruction) should get a good run of games now and hopefully capture his late season from from 2019.

Can't see Patton playing another game for us. I can see him "retiring" in the coming weeks.. He will be forced to announce his retirement by the club, who will in fact be sacking him.

He was never part of our best 22.

The fact that he was taking games off Ceglar and Lewis is a joke, quite frankly.

Complete waste of a list spot and a pretty poor way to spunk a fair chunk of salary down the shitter.

The guy is a bigger dickhead and waste of time and money than Tyrone Vickery.

Even as an optimistic Hawthorn fan I cannot get my head around why we recruited him.

The same reason Clarko and co recruited Tom Scully, Jono O'Rourke and Ty Vickery... thinking that you can turn a top 10 pick into a decent player despite them either being injured or showing nothing at their previous clubs

Yep, we hit the recycled injured player jackpot with Shaun Burgoyne.

And we've been trying to replicate it ever since. JOM is another example. Good player but we got fleeced.

Big time.. I like Omera and think he is a decent player and seems to be a good leader...however, he is a B grade player at best..he will play one really good game every 5-6 weeks..he is barely noticeable most weeks and his kicking is deplorable... for what we paid, he needed to be a top 10 midfielder in the league..don't get me started on the Wingard trade

next warrick capper, but modern gen z version. this dude is gonna be a pornhub influencer with onlyfans in no time

He cant be too far off retirement anyway. Before he was traded to the hawks he refused to play out the back half of the season for GWS because his reality is games = injuries.
No idea why anyone would recruit a footballer who is either injured and cant play, or wont play in case he gets injured.

It was a punt for Hawthorn, IIRC GWS were paying part of his salary and he didn't cost much in picks. A big mature body to take the big hits while other forwards develop, with a very small chance that he might show some signs of the player who was once a hugely promising KPF.

Didn't work out and appears that Patton has quite a few off field issues. I imagine most Hawks fans would say meh.

From a purely football perspective and nothing to do with recent revelations I was interested in the recruitment but not expecting too much; exactly what you said, take the hits and let the younger KPFs develop. After seeing his output last year, I'm struggling too justify a place on the list. The toxic contribution to the culture seals it.
