A common occurence through alot of these post-appocolapse threads have been the concerns with JON particuly:

- His inability to get his own ball
- Takes alot of uncontested marks
- Poor disposal
- Poor decision making

What does everyone think of JON and his first 2 games of the year? Has been in the system for about 18 months now and whilst he has improved he hasnt really anything that shows that he might be a champ like Lids and Tambo had by the same time in their careers

Although he is clearly not up to AFL standard, I thought he presented himself, moved and marked well.

But his kick, well....

Everyone knew he was a long-term developing type when we got him. The fact that he is in the team so early, and showing some positive signs, is a credit to the lad. Give him time and he will adjust.

I was thinking the exact same thing about JON. I watched new players Dick, Cox and Toovey and they are miles ahead.

he has shown 500% more in 18 months and 4 games than others have in their 6 or 7 years. I would even suggest that if he is still growing, me thinks it will be Hughes FF and JON CHF. As for your suggestion that he has an inablity to get his own ball and takes alot of uncontested marks, do have any idea dude? I mean, how is taking alot of uncontested marks a bad thing? The fact is he does FFS. That means, we have it going our way, dip stick. ;)

lets just say should be playing VFL

hasnt showed anything

and thats were im stumped with

HOW THE FCUK HE IS GETTING A GAME

AND WE GOT PEOPLE LIKE

polo and tivendale not getting a game

The point i'm trying to make is THAT HE ONLY TAKES UNCONTESTED MARKS!. He has a very good set of hands and looks better foward then what he does back. Back that doesn't take away from the fact that his disposal is arguable sub-par in comparison to players who have been in the system the same time

Disagree that he hasn't shown anything. Was better than 60% of the other RFC players tonight. But further development at Coburg wouldn't hurt either.

he kicked it into the man on the mark, and he has played 4 games.
Bowden who is a seasoned veteran ,kicks out from a behind and 2 secs later the cats a pissing themsleves and he is beautiful kick isnt he?
Tuck burst through the pack, and heads into the f50 on the left kicks it straight to a cat, all alone and he is a gun. Pettifer keeps trying to bring rain, whether he is passing or shooting for goal, and he also is a good kick. Hyde runs down the wing has a player free inside 50, passes it with so much presicion, that it has another tiger who is in between thinking its for him, i.e just over his head for him, and to short for the target, and he also is a beautiful kick. But JON, to you isnt up to AFL standard after a handful of games huh? ;)

and the point is that he takes those uncontested marks because he gets to be in places to be able to take them. Does that kind of suggest something?
Or are you going to forever require a Richo like player when footy is not about Richo type players anymore. COntested marks in the F50,in the modern era, mean jack in the overall scheme of things. Yes you need someone that can, but you need more JONs that dont have to. ;)

JON made a couple of Barry Crockers in the first half ... but who didn`t ?

Was far from our worst in the second half.

He`ll be alright , get off his back .

Like Cogga is saying , he puts himself in the right places , which 70% of the battle .

For those taking pot shots at the youth tonight .... your are horribly looking in the wrong direction . The kids have been good all year ... it`s who is out the front and leading them that are letting them down . They are the lost Frawley years

The Krakouers and the Halls and the Rodans and the Tivendales and the Fioras are the ones who are supposed to have stepped up into the leadership breach and steering the ship ... Where the f..k are they ?;)

IDGAF

well rodan and fiora are getting games for alot better teams then us

and actually playing well

rodan has been one of ports best 5 this year so far

as for tivendale, hes getting dropped even when playing good

so what do you except him to do ffs

ray hall is injured, has battled little injurys through hes whole career

and krakour, typical aboriginal player, comes to play when they feel like it

So your agreeing with me ?

I've seen Jon have poor skills at VFL before building up over several matches into becoming quite skillful and more dependant.

When he adjusts to the pressures of AFL football his skill levels will also rise.
