Not surprised in the slightest! We don't have the currency to start off with and really Giles is not good enough as a key forward to be in the best 22 and not good enough to overtake Sauce as the #1 ruckman!

I've watched a few games he has played last season (2012). He looked alright, was taller, flanker type. You'd think a late pick would get it done.

It's a bit harsh to call a 20-21 year old ruckman a spud, they do take some time to develop. Cox and Sandilands weren't much early on in their careers IIRC.

Yeh but everyone is kind of hanging their hats on him being the GOAT, fact is at best he will be a tryer. Anyway, I look forward to being proved wrong.

He toweled Gorringe late last year. He is very mobile for a big guy and will develop into a good ruck/forward.

Agreed, I suspect this trade week will be similar to 2011, where we were involved in a hell of a lot of trades, most of which didn't occur till later in the week as some trades required others to happen first etc. this time round we have 3 weeks. Sounds like we've put a lot of work into this trade week and I have little doubt that we're not in any hurry.

Begs the question which forward/ruckman are we interested in ... or are we backing in Smack, because it didn't appear like it when we were playing anyone else (even Otten) as our backup ruckman.
