He’s in the mix for selection this week.

Good a time as any to come in - played a in a great team performance two weeks ago, we were hopeless last week and Sicily is injured
Horrible luck not to be playing this week, could've held his spot if not for injury. He's named as first emergency though, I think we'll see him back in before long.

His 2nd and 3rd efforts around a contest are seriously poor. Watch some contests/stoppages and compare him to Mitchell. Don't compare them on talent. Compare them on workrate and desire to keep impacting the next contest.

There is a reason he stayed in the 2s for so long after a fair stint of fitness. I'm not trying to smack the guy but the 2 AFL games I've seen him play the last few weeks have been telling in my eyes.

I've been calling for him to get an opportunity but you are right, he needs to stick the tackles.

Was playing wing all game. The clearances he got were off a wing. Stuffed up a few things, but had 14 touches in the first half. Faded. Still finding match fitness at the level. I reckon he’ll be a player.

I agree and think he links up well on transition. We're not exactly spoilt for choice with midfielders at the moment so I'd definitely be giving him another game to see how he builds.

Thought he went okay, a pass mark at least. Unfortunately for him, guys like Miles and Worpel have done a bit more, and therefore probably deserve their place over Jono. I'd love for him to be able to get a string of games going. But does he get picked ahead of the other fringe players? I'm not so sure.

Like Miles more.
No room for much improvement in my eyes for JOR.
So a slightly below average midfielder is sooooo not what we need while retooling the team.

Exactly right, lined up on the wing on an especially tough day and ground for wingmen. Etihad is too small and narrow for players to get enough space - Smith had a poor game also, albeit tagged.

Leave him in for Freo at Perth Stadium - much bigger ground, more room to move and could show his wares a lot better. To punters saying he was showed up by Worpel - Worpel was in the thick of it all day, O'Rourke didn't have that liberty.

Give the bloke some continuity at the level, some time to get his faith back in the hammies - he got the contest a lot and helped cause outnumbers, even with his own limitations he was the quickest player in defense and second quickest player on the ground based on averages.

O'Rourke gets another chance.

Given how they're giving him a good run (when he's not exactly killing it), I guess they're having a good look at what Jono can add to the Mitchell, JOM, Worpel, Shiels combo. Freo have a very inexperienced midfield, not travelling well - Jono couldn't ask for a better opportunity to show his superior talent.

His selection this week is the right move. He hasn’t shown anything remotely promising for a pick 2 draft pick, however the club needs to see where he is at. Can he deliver when it matters in cut throat matches for us or will he fail.

The challenge is there.

KOLOKOTRONIS

Forget where he was drafted, he provides a different element to our midfield mix.

I really hope he gets a look in for the rest of the year & gets a licence to go full tilt (running) against the Cats or at a minimum against the Swans.
There will come a rd where it’s a case of now or never, go hard or go home.

Continue to let him pick up the pace & improve then force his hand to cut loose; similar to Jags last season against the Dogs.

I think everyone would be happy if he were given the same allowances to come back from a chronic issue that has all but killed his career yet is rated internally at the club.

I love the way he moves & still think we are sitting on something with quality.

Fingers crossed he can emulate the comeback of Jags & set himself up for a crack at the finals & season 2019

I agree about how he moves, he just has certain qualities and physical traits that make me believe he could be a solid player. That hunched over running style, just reeks of how Ablett or Cotchin attack the ball.

You can clearly see when he plays that he wants to go for the ball or the player but literally has to not as he goes at 80-90% to not ping his hammers again.
Even if that is increased slightly his pressure acts will improve & put himself in slightly better positions to get the footy himself or be in a better position as a release player who has a beautiful kick
