Austinn Jones says sorry, Aker

St Kilda's Austinn Jones last night defused the potential of a fiery confrontation with Jason Akermanis on Saturday night when he admitted error in sledging the Brownlow medallist last year. Jones said he regretted questioning the respect Brisbane Lions players had for Akermanis when he clashed with him at the end of last season's Round 11 match.

Aussie addressed that over 4 months ago. But then I guess that's probably not good enough for you, maybe you'd like him to grovel at your feet oh mr high & mighty!

As for the "squib" comment, it's not as term I'd use, but a couple of his performances were definately unsatisfactory & anybody who does that in the afl opens themselves up for quite justifiable critisism. Opposition teams rightly seek to play thru his direct opponent & that strategy was executed perfectly on Friday night.

You are a deadset moron mate. I am in no way implying that Aussie or any Saints player had a good game last night - we were demolished in every respect by a fantastic team - but your critique of Jones as a player is so far off the mark it is nothing short of pathetic. There is no need for me to reel off Jone's achievements or stature at our club - anybody with even a basic knowledge of our game will be aware of it. He showed in the late 90s that he can perform in the heat of finals, last night was an abberation - even the best players have shockers every now and then. You're a deadset keyboard cowboy - saying that he's scared but even though he's a little guy there is no way in the world that a **************** like you would ever have the balls to say anything to the guy's face. I feel like a total idiot even justifying your drivel with a response you are so stupid......

It takes a certain level of courage to play AFL football.

Saying that, the question is Aussie scared or not can only truly be answered by himself.

The excuse being made for him that he is only small has absolutely nothing to do with being scared on not. Courage is an internal quality not an external one.
