Is this bloke the most unscrutinised Pick 2 of all time?

Had two injury-plagued years at GWS, and now into his 4th year at the Hawks has played a total of 18 games to date. Last year he didn't crack one senior appearance.

I know he's had his injury concerns and was a serious reach for a number of reasons, but you just don't hear about the bloke.

Was a gun junior, stylistically similar to Pendles (and to be fair any player who's played a bit of basketball and has above average skills in traffic cops the same tag) but he's pretty redundant at AFL level.

They basically mentioned your point in the OP at the start of the ABC radio call. That the one pick difference means he isn't ever talked about despite failing to really show anything so far.

He didn't just have two injury-plagued GWS years. He's had an entire career of injury-plagued years.

The kid just can't catch a break.

He's escaped scrutiny because Hawthorn have been so successful they haven't needed him to be a saviour.

It's also hard to blame recruiters when it's injury that has stalled his development and they've got so many other picks and trades right.

Two injury plagued seasons at gws followed by a season in the VFL because he couldn't get on the park for gws and played about 8 games in the space of 2 years when he wasnt injured

Followed by two injury riddled seasons at hawthorn where we had to ask him to come on board for 2018 since he was wanting to retire because 2017 he had two hammy operations and was very frustrated

Hardly a bad pick, or even a question of if it's the right one. Talented player. Just cant get on the park

Hard when you can only manage 7 vfl games between two hammy surgeries. Hardly an issue with his ability.

It's pretty much like. People are not saying Sam day was a bad pick, just the dude has only had one solid run of injury free form, looked good then copped another bad injury.

O'Rourke kind of proves why it's a waste of time to blather on and on about draft picks and where players were selected.

Obviously he must've shown a lot of promise as a junior to be selected so early.
But he hasn't gone on with the job and he is a journeyman dud. Handy at VFL level and that's it.

GWS did well to screw us out of a draft pick. They've screwed a number of clubs out of draft picks for their mediocre rejects.
