On the 5th Quarter last night and the ABC today, Jordan Bannister's father Wayne, said that Jordan was leaving Carlton at season's end to join Collingwood but of course we deny it. Thoughts?

Pies have done some silly things in the past few years....but I sincerely doubt they would be THAT stupid.

From The Age ... I don't think JB would be too pleased. Wayne was a pretty handy boxer in the day. Would've been ranked in the top 3-4 welterweights in Australia back in the early 70s with Mattioli, Moore, Aldenhoven (bit of useless trivia for you in case anyone asks).

Blue to be Pie, says father

The father of Carlton tagger Jordan Bannister said yesterday the 22-year-old would leave the Blues after this season to trial with Collingwood.

Wayne Bannister yesterday rang ABC 774 to complain that his 190-centimetre son was being played out of position at the Blues and should be playing centre half-forward because he had a good leap and pace. But, he said Carlton coach Denis Pagan, who he described as a "very stern and good coach", had not been willing to move the Bannister from his tagging duties where he has had some impressive performances.

Bannister was a third-round national draft pick for Essendon in 2000 but was delisted after managing only 14 games in three years before being recruited by Carlton. He has played 22 games for the Blues, including five this year, and was omitted for today's clash against Adelaide. "What I can't understand is the kid really tries hard but he's not in the right position," said the elder Bannister, who had played for the Magpies reserves. "I think he could be at least centre half-forward. He's got a good leap (and) he's got plenty of sprint.

"I don't want the kid to be demoralised.

"But I'll tell you directly . . . that he will be leaving Carlton this year and trying at Collingwood. He is definitely leaving - that's from the father."

Bannister snr, who is also a former boxer, said Collingwood had expressed interest in his son.

Pagan said he would not discuss Bannister's comments.

Collingwood chief executive Greg Swann yesterday said the club, which has been criticised by the Brisbane Lions for trying to poach stars Jonathan Brown and Luke Power, had not considered Bannister.

We have no more room for ugly parents at Collingwood. The inn is full.

Why would we want a tall anyway?

why would we want him for

He won't play CHF even if he ends up at Collingwood. We already have enough forwards and Trav has shown that he can play there

it is a weird story though.....not something you expect to see at round 10 in the season

good luck to Jordan getting another game this year

probably all because of his dad

I want him at Collingwood.

I have always been a fan of his, even if his Father is a complete moron. I would be thrilled if we traded for him.

Probably because we're sick and tired of being associated with any half-decent player that's coming out of contract! Surely we aren't the only club talking to people, yet we're the only one mentioned.
