Probably just smoothing out his salary so we have more cap space for a "big fish".

You'd be in a very small club if you rate him that highly. This is a clear case of rating your own players higher than they're really worth (don't worry - most supporters do the same thing).

The Dawson trade seems to have hit Swans supporters harder than any other that I can remember.
I'm not sure if its to do with how well he has gone at Adelaide, or if it was because he said that Swans fans had nothing to worry about during the season.

Wasn’t Dawson one of the swans effectively squeezed out salary wise as a function of the Tippett and Buddy contracts?

Edit: and before anyone says those contracts were done way earlier, what I’m inferring is that Sydney lost the ability to front end contracts whilst Tippett and Buddy were there so the repercussions were still being felt.

If (big if) we pinch a flag in the next couple of years, there is an argument to be made that hes had the biggest influence of any Crow in terms of what hes brought.
