That was a fairly fast news cycle.. or maybe Dawson needed a payrise.... or maybe they're cooking up another deal for a trade of some sort?

I'm sure it will be.Dont think it'll be a payrise.
I still doubt he'd have asked for an increase, I mean he'd get one due to the increase in cap anyway.I'm sure it will be.
Since recruitment he's become our captain, our most reliable player, the key to our midfield which became a revolutionary change for our team, an All Australian midfielder and is now a genuine Brownlow chance and/or AA CAPTAIN.
Sheesh. On the open market, I reckon he'd command offers double what his recruitment salary was.
And worth every penny too IMO.
A nice surprise, as I thought we usually save these announcements for after losses.Extends to 2029

Seems I probably underrated him in hindsight. Been a handy pickupJust checking - you meant to type 6? That wasn't a typo? You didn't mean 16?
You'd be in a very small club if you rate him that highly. This is a clear case of rating your own players higher than they're really worth (don't worry - most supporters do the same thing).

Agreed. I'm pretty sure I said in this thread at the time what you gave up was fair value under the circumstances. At the time if was fair value
The Dawson trade seems to have hit Swans supporters harder than any other that I can remember.Agreed. I'm pretty sure I said in this thread at the time what you gave up was fair value under the circumstances.
Wasn’t Dawson one of the swans effectively squeezed out salary wise as a function of the Tippett and Buddy contracts? The Dawson trade seems to have hit Swans supporters harder than any other that I can remember.
I'm not sure if its to do with how well he has gone at Adelaide, or if it was because he said that Swans fans had nothing to worry about during the season.
Thats how fights start at Adelaide OvalAgreed. I'm pretty sure I said in this thread at the time what you gave up was fair value under the circumstances.
If (big if) we pinch a flag in the next couple of years, there is an argument to be made that hes had the biggest influence of any Crow in terms of what hes brought. The skipper doesn't get enough credit for turning the club around, or the culture.
What a leader he is. Thank **** he chose us.

Not the VB "great club man, sets the standards" type leader either. On the field, when it matters this guy consistently lifts when its needed. Immense in that Hawthorn game. Built for finals.
NicksDawson being a completely useless liability in both finals was not on my bingo card. The fact that Nicks refused to put him anywhere near Newcombe at any stage is baffling.
