Are you sure this is actually as close as you think it is? Martin has him covered in a lot of important areas from a 42% greater sample size. Across the board that would translate to quite a meaningful difference. Those numbers are comparable but Martin was clearly better
It is close Martin's extra numbers can be contributed to more midfield minutes and a full preseason unlike Jordan.

Martin's are better in some areas (typically in disposal numbers) but worse in others and mainly the differences are marginal.

I get what you are saying in that Martin had to maintain it for another 8 games but he also had things that benefited his numbers like more midfield time and also uninterrupted preseason so not starting behind the 8 ball.

If Degoey is damage goods, whats McCartin.
Not getting it. Something strange going on tonight. Even knighty tonight to get number one. Degoey plus ours this and next years first rounders. Full moon is it.
At least Knightmare has articulated his reasoning in a logical manner as he always does without emotion.

The rest of them are trolls as far as I am concerned.

I am confident Jordan is going nowhere...the one I have concern over is Darcy.

It must be a full moon tonight mate.

It’s not pessimistic at all. Why on earth would we pay overs to keep a mid/forward who has yet to play consistently?
We sometimes disagree on topics, jmac70 - but you have my full support here.

Jordan in all reality has proven nothing. He's an exciting talent, no doubt, but if he wants the big $$ string together a full season of high-quality football without all the off-field ****-ups.

I don’t think Darcy will go, his old man regretted it. Could be all this Lynch talk getting to him, but he will stay. But he will be payed very well.

Sounds like what was said about Martin around the same age...

The issue is people use the Martin of now to compare to Degoey at 21/22 rather then Martin of 21
Martin was always a very special talent with only fitness limitations holding him back in the early stages of his career.

Martin actually polled 23 Brownlow votes across his first 3 seasons and in his second season kicked 33 goals from 22 games and had 486 disposals.

In comparison de Goey polled his first Brownlow votes last year and now has 5. In his second season he kicked 16 goals from 20 games and had 365 disposals.

de Goey is certainly Martin like and I see similarities like you but we may have to settle for a player that is very good imitation of an absolute elite talent in Martin.

In Martin’s second season he played 22 games, averaged 21 disposals and kicked over 30 goals. Most importantly he was consistently producing those numbers.

De Goey isn’t as good as Martin was then, and is very unlikely to be as good as Martin is now. He’s just not in that class.
He may not reach Martin's current out put but he is definitely close to a similar teir as Martin then.

Degoey best is a goal kicking mid who can burst from a pack with brute.

I read here someone say Martin is much quicker then Degoey and I actually disagree think they would be close with maybe the edge to Martin.
Opposition often catch up to Martin but can't tackle him due to Martins power and strength to fend off.
He brute forces his way off them and can do it at pace often putting players who are chasing off balance.

Knightmare does this stuff very well no doubt about it. But not sure on this one though

Stopped reading how are st kilda getting pick 1?
North beating them by 52 points?

Adelaide beating them by 49 and Geelong by 47.

Not all that impressive v Brisbane at home, even despite getting the W.

They're a bottom three side this year, and one of three teams in the mix for the spoon.

If they finish 16th, as very well may happen, I wouldn't be all that serious at all about moving De Goey to St Kilda. They lack the pieces Collingwood would consider desirable.

My interest above was in talking about scenios a trade of De Goey to St Kilda may be of some interest.

Yes and by the age of 21 they had similar output on average. Martin got much more midfield time then Jordan early on.

Degoey may fall short of him but it won't be by a lot and we will still have a brute goal kicking mid capable of changing a game.

Players develop at different rates, let's see how Jordan goes over the rest of the year. Hopefully we see him start going through the center on a regular basis too.

He’s no where near Martin or Swan.
No not yet, but he promises to be the way he plays. He goes about it the same way. He actually reminds me of Swan and martin. Swan averaged 14.8 disposals after 3 years and 18 after 4 years. Everyone said he was just an average footballer until the next year. Both those guys have had their share of off field issues too.

In the case of the trade suggestion for pick one, giving up De Goey and two first rounders might make St Kilda think, if they have pick one, identified and want De Goey, and want to give their midfield a boost. Maybe they consider it depending on Collingwood's ladder finish and projection of success or otherwise for 2019.
What dafuq are smoking KM?

Degoey AND 2 firsts for pick 1? Geez I hope that was a typo!
