My guess is it's Jordy and Petracca - although possessions seem a bit low for Petracca? Maybe Jordy and Heeney?

At a guess player 1 is JDG and player 2 Isaac Heeney?

Imagine if we’d have brought him back into the fold in early January and he’d had a reasonable pre-season with the club! He’s been underrated in 2022 and will be better in 2023 regardless of where that is.

That’s a long bow to draw; he wasn’t injured he was just out getting shit faced… you’re telling me the firefighter couldn’t find him an athletics track to run around? He was perfectly healthy, with all the resources in the world bar the club itself.

If it’s as easy as just finding an athletics track why do we even bother with preseason?

I’m just saying he didn’t have a setback he needed to recover from, leaving him behind the pack. He went into the offseason healthy, remained healthy throughout, and so was free to do whatever he saw fit to do to have himself ready for the start of the season. He’s done a few preseasons now, he knows what they’re about.

To suggest that having instead completed that preseason at the club, would have made him a different player in 2022 is pretty fanciful. Maybe if he were a first or second year player, but not a veteran drafted in 2014.

Must be
Guessing you are reading that on a phone? One of the curiosities of BF is that the phones show laughs as just likes. Which means using the laugh emoji as a sign of disagreement with a post is not particularly clever.
Is that an apple thing. My android Chinese surveillance device shows them as LOL.

My laughs are shown as laughs. Quite a few posters think my posts are hysterically bad.

They know who they are:p

I get a lot of these from Maggie5 in the politics thread.

However, it might suggest that the US fitness camp was more indicative of his attitude and preparation than his misadventures during a night on the piss.

Love the “like” plus “NFI” combination. Never change, BigFooty!

I can confirm what Swipey said... you got laughed at TRS.

I hope you eventually recover from the hurt that this will have caused. Know that we are here to support you the best we can. Sending you thoughts and prayers.

The JDG issue is getting ridiculous. He's a good footballer, very good. We all know this. He is in our top 3, probably our best on pure talent.

I hope he keeps polling coaches votes and finishes the year on a high.

Stop it. A sponsor paid him to "go train" there and take promotional footage of him half-arsing "functional training" workouts.

Bloody good gig if you can get it.

However, despite not being at the club for heaps of preseason, he came back in good enough shape to get coaches votes for the first month of the season. He's going alright is our Jordy. Embrace him Jathanas. He's great to watch.

I'm more emotionally invested in players like Elliot and Checkers but I will support the guy as long as he wears the jumper.

Yes, Jordy can be awesome to watch. :)

He was getting shit faced in his off-season break which is a big distinction in my books (it was the behaviour that followed that really mattered) and I can’t judge him on that. I’ve personally seen nothing to suggest he behaved that way once he returned to Australia?

I would be extremely surprised if a professional footballer could mirror the benefits of a full pre-season with a club in a private environment. Having never played at the professional level I can’t be certain of course, but from personal experience pre-season in a team environment >>> pre-season as an individual.
