So the good vibes and promising season threaten to go off the rails, and there's plenty of blame to go round.

Like most, if not all, of you, I don't know De Goey, or the full story, so some of this may be unfair.

Who to be pissed off with the most?

The media? Yep, but no surprise there. Murdoch sludge like Robinson, and those pressured to compete with his level of fake outrage to please their bosses.

The club? To an extent, but how many chances does De Goey get to be half-sensible? A bit of tough love is not out of place at this point, is it? And they haven't exactly thrown the book at him.

His brother-in-law? Yeah, well, maybe he's not cut out for being much more than an enabler.

To be honest, I wasn't that concerned by the footage after the woman made light of it.

It did occur to me that he should've kept his head down until his contract was signed & he'd put more distance between himself and the NYC incident. But, if he was up for the notoriety, hey, who am I to argue? If not, stay out of the interwebs.

In any case, if he'd come back on time, brushed off the attention with a fake glum look, and switched back on to the team & footy, fair play, you larrikin.

So, blame whoever you like as much as you like.

Ultimately, I'm really pissed off with JDG for being so predictable, and not having the combination of brains & balls to be playing against GWS at the start of the run home.

If I don't go to the footy this weekend, it'll be because of the weather, because my Scottish and Norwegian bloodlines are strangely sensitive to cold. That's a genuine and valid reason.

People should not avoid the footy because of the JDG issue. That is not a genuine or valid reason. It seems self-indulgent.

The Jordy Drama is probably a good reason to turn up, to support the players, and let the world see that the supporters barrack for something which is stronger and more important than the club's response to that drama.

Find another way to signal your disgust. Engage in collective protest by revealing your nipples. Write a letter, get lots of people to sign it with their nipples.

But show more resolve than the club and get behind your players rather than abandoning the poor bastards.

How many times can he be a 15 year old, which would be excusable.
Im looking forward to what we can get in compensation and how we can improve our list with a talented, stable, footballer.
The club stuffed up yesterday when the fined him but suspended that fine. 25k is beer money for Jordy, so apply the fine, get kudos for doing so, and move on. But suspending it only opened us up to more media scrutiny.
If the coaching team is professional, they are already working on a game plan without him and looking at the available top 10 recruit in the next draft.

If we get McStay as a free agent, any compo for Jordy will be diluted.

You're right. My description sounded very severe. The intent was to expose a part of her anatomy but it wasn't aggresive. That needs to be noted in all fairness.

What he did wasn't a hangable offense but I disagree with the "he did nothing" insistence coming from some.

The truth is somewhere in the middle.

He could have been innocuously reaching backwards and grabbed her top unknowingly. There may not have been any intention. The immediate release can be seen as an un viewed grab and realization. It’s without context. And without a view of the other persons positioning…..

Why is the club going to do this when it's obvious they are in bed with mainstream media on this issue?

I think it's time some of the blame was focused on what Apples calls 'the quest to treat women with respect ... turning men into snowflakes'. Sexual activity is becoming a legal and personal minefield of consensual obligations that almost require a couple to have a lawyer present to ensure consent is granted prior to each stage of proposed intimacy. We live in a country that places PC behaviour and thought on a pedestal and is fast becoming one of the most over-regulated places in the world.

Having said that, I also blame De Goey for lacking awareness of how his behaviour would be perceived in such a country as well as the club for not better advising him regarding the danger of recording his holiday activities and posting them online. The media pursual of both this story and the harmless Tic Toc participants has been appalling but so has the blind acceptance of their opinions by a gullible and largely uninformed public.

I questioned TD's assertion that De Goey had played his last game for us and expected the player would feature in the team to play GWS. I was wrong. He will no doubt return at some stage - perhaps as early as next week, but he is almost certainly going to seriously entertain offers from other clubs to move. Rightly or wrongly, I believe he feels he has been thrown under a bus by the club. If he is still in black and white next year, I will be very surprised.
