God, i'd repressed that and now I have to go see my therapist again. 😭😭

At least he's top notch. Can usually get over it in a session. Unless it's the Maynard 2018 block. That's full 'triggered woke snowflake trauma flashbacks." 😂
Apparently there's now short courses so you can qualify as an AFL trade week therapist. Already heavily booked to qualify for next year. Course is mainly online with 2 on-site sessions required at Marvel - (self- catering recommended)

I thought (in the little we saw) he looked a bit off in the PF even before the Rayner hit - spraying kicks all over the place and just below his form from the Adelaide game in general. Still plenty of improvement in him if they can get that body of his back to near 100%.
He was spraying kicks early (like the rest of the side) but he was moving really well. After the Rayner hit he was moving like a crab, particularly after he cooled down at half time. They could barely run him through the middle.

And Pendlebury virtually didn’t play at all in that game.So that might explain why our midfield completely ran out of gas in the second half of that game.

He looked way off in the Brissie game from the get go. He sometimes takes a while to get going, but spraying his kicks indicates he wasn’t quite on.

Didn't think it was that long
Turns out we're all wrong 😆

Scott Pendlebury was substituted out of the game with a lower leg injury roughly five minutes into the first quarter of Collingwood’s preliminary final loss to Brisbane at the MCG.

The 37-year-old, who was playing his 425th career game, headed down into the rooms in the early minutes of the first quarter, and re-emerged shortly after only to be ruled out of the game in a disastrous blow to the Magpies’ hopes of making the Grand Final. Foxfooty.

It just means the sub was made 5 mins into the quarter. He was injured within about a minute.

Yeah it's neither here nor there. It was really in relation to a post about his impact on the game. I think we can all agree, it was zilch.

Other than we really missed him 😆

Leppa said he is looking to sign another long term deal, so much for retiring or being traded..

JDG probably wants a pay increase as well as more years on his contract, which is also possibly his last.

All very understandable given the current salaries going around. But geez the club would have to be wary here, given his injury history.

Hopefully sorted before next season, so it doesn’t distract us as several other contracts (reputedly) did in ‘25.

Once again, glad I’m not the list manager and having to deal with player managers. They are the AFL’s version of the ‘faceless men’ (and some women) in politics - a powerful behind the scenes force in footy.

“Glad I’m not the list manager” is so true. My couch is a very comfortable one. The approach to De Goey is so hard. Currently he has signed for unders in his contract. His interest previously from North and Saints are club that have gone poorly. He has a premiership at the pies. Signing preseason is stable but potentially commitment without on field play and without durability. To delay signing is to also potentially increase the cost. To have the options is great.

I don't think he's signed for unders at all. He's paid quite handsomely given his output to date.

Always plays good in a contract year.. but that’s not til 2027

I think he only has 30-40 games in him and is on good money. Settled down now so the D-H factor is not the concern it was a few years ago

If it was true… to offer him up so late in trade period before teams would have time to do a medical…that’s a used car salesman trick on the odometer reading

So I would’ve dangled his name as trade bait… however a top 10 pick is rich… a future late 1st or early 2nd with cap relief (in conjunction with Pendles, Sidney and Howe likely retiring next year) is the bigger picture for mine heading into a year where butters is a F/A

Now he’s staying, hopefully he has a great year and makes me eat my words

So much wrong with your post.

Total BS that he saved his best footy for a contract year. Crap insinuation.

Ridiculous to say he has only 30-40 games left.

He wasn’t offered up for trade so the rest of your hypothetical rant is irrelevant.

Shouldn’t be a difficult contract to extend. He hasn’t really done anything to warrant a pay rise. If goes looking for one, we can get something of value back via a trade.
