If Foote comes in the team he won't replace Mitchell.

Mitchell will be replaced by players like Heeney rotating through the middle more and other more experienced players like Lloyd, Jones, etc....

Foote will replace their roles on the wing/fwd line etc....

Tell me one player in the last 10 seasons after 1 game in the Swans would be at as many ball ups as Mitchell, average 25+ disposals a game etc.....

Foote will not replace Mitchells spot in the team.

Heeney will replace Mitchell in the guts.

Just because Foote comes in the team, doesn't mean he automatically gets the role Mitchell had.

But what ever it is or has been in recent times, we have been masters at dealing with it no matter what.

When we traded Schneids & Dempster, our cap was pretty tight. Loved players but we did was was necessary. No Tommy in 2017 & beyond.
We'll develop/ bring in someone better for the long term.
Give something to get something.

Let's leave it to the people that have given him a contract after being on the rookie list.
I remember a bloke called Brett Kirk.
Same blokes on here would have called him s**t at the same stage before Roos got a hold of him.

You could very well be right but our club has never had the benefit of having an instant star other than Heeney & Mills more recently. We've been the best club at teaching players. Foote might just be a waste of time. Let's watch him develop though. Too early to write anyone off.

Foote will make it at AFL level. no guarantees he will be a super star though. he might get the a jake lloyd level and stagnate but he will be a regular 100+ game player

He was extremely impressive in the couple of NEAFL games I watched live...his improvement has been remarkable. I don't see any obvious reason why he won't be a solid contributor at senior level.

I realise this is an incredibly low bar, but Foote will at least be better than Robinson
