Didn't play in 2018, but we were awfully close in 2019 to at least making a GF (and probably would've given a better showing than GWS)

I think he is retiring now so that we get an additional mid-season draft pick.

Excellent service to the pies, have been a big fan since he joined for peanuts. Watched him on his game back this year you could just tell his shoulder was too weak to allow him to contest one on one with the gorillas. A good decision and the right time to conclude his career.

You don’t get a payout unless the injury is defined as career ending. I think he’d have a hard time convincing anyone that a broken finger qualifies for that!

And if dough was a motivation he probably wouldn't have quit with around 5 months to run on his contract.

Sad news in a way, but I hope everything is ok and keeps getting better for you and your family in the next phase of your life Jordan.

You came into the club at a time when we desperately needed someone to play lockdown KPD and you slotted in perfectly, playing what is probably the shittiest role on ground week after week without acclaim or often without even being noticed, although I suspect that those who consider themselves more of a 'connoisseur' of the finer details of the game always had your efforts from week to week on their radar and for good reason too.

Since you walked through the doors at the Holden Centre you've always kept your head down and bum up both on the training track and on the field and been just a really solid citizen around the club.

Congratulations on reaching the end of your AFL journey mate, you've made a significant contribution to a premiership team at the doggies (despite being pushed from pillar to post with the regular role switching) and have been a key cog in two finals campaigns for us. A 200 game career over 13 seasons at AFL level is certainly not something to be sneezed at, especially considering how you've been a key contributor to teams that have been playing finals on a regular basis.

Know that Collingwood Football Club is better for you having walked through its doors in late 2018 and is now subsequently a little poorer for your departure today. Good luck and good fortune with wherever you end up going and whatever you end up doing from here Roughy!!!

Its a shame. Been a terrific clubman and player over the journey. A Premiership player at the Doggies no less. Good on him for choosing to retire at this time.
