Ugly game from Sweet today , his taps went about half a metre to totally random spots and he was blitzed around the ground , slightly competitive in the ruck , about the highest praise he could get today
 
Yeah that's the last straw for me. Multiple terrible games in a row and leading the competition for frees against.

Dante should be a straight swap for him over the next month.

Hell even bloody Soldo could work more effectively at this stage.

Matthew Lobbe has failed to develop a consistent ruck that can take marks around the ground.

Sweet's path is absolutely similar right now to Lobbe's path of having a good 2014 and then being done for the rest of his career.
 
Easily his worst game since coming here. I’m still high on him though. How many other players played well today? But he does have to bounce back strong next week.

Had English beat in the ruck, just can’t tap it to advantage, gave up too many frees, and didn’t compete around the ground.

Visentini’s highest disposal game at AFL level is 10 touches, so unless he’s improved that much around the ground, I don’t know why so many are keen to drop Sweet. Sweet is also a far better matchup for ROB than Visentini.

Edit: also why is a scrub like Lobbe ruck coach? What’s Patrick Ryder up to these days?

I always rated Soldo's tap work and connection higher than Sweet. It's just that Sweet's ability to cover the ground was greater than Soldo.

Last time I heard anything about Ryder, he took an off-field role at Essendon.
 
I'll preface this by saying I have never rated Sweet however, having Matthew Lobbe as ruck coach and Head of Development is the single most ridiculous appointment literally ever and Sweet has regressed considerably this year because of it.

I was willing to give him a go against his old side, especially considering he played his best game for us last year against them but far out today was his worst game for us.

Putrid. Time to give Dante a game.
 
If we are a fair dinkum club he has to be dropped..

You can’t accept his last few weeks.. needs a spell and visentini given a run for a few weeks.

How can he develop something he never was in the first place? What can he teach them?

It's like asking Nathan Lonie to teach contested football

Or 200 game defender Nathan Bassett to coach a forward line....oh wait...

He does look a little bit that way.

He's got no idea when he's going to give away a free kick.

His around the ground work is down the bottom of the league for rucks.

The worst thing is that he's lost that fire and running out four quarters which was his strength last year.

English absolutely gave him one of the biggest beltings. I mean English eviscerated him.

This is a stat from the game that I'm most shocked with. English had 17, I repeat 17 scoring involvements. Now, if a midfielder had that, it would be truly amazing but for a ruck to have 17 scoring involvements is just crazy. English had 27 possies with 3.1 to Sweet's 9 possies and 1 goal. 6 marks to 2. Those stats are 3x greater.

To Schulzenfest, who said what needed to be said about Sweet this year and was torn to pieces, good on ya. I've dared to criticise players and had other posters tell me rubbish that my eyes cannot unsee. I think this year I had a friendly argument about Boak and the next week he put in an absolute shocker and everyone else on the site responded. I didn't have to. I've had a few in previous years. I don't understand people sometimes.

I don't know what is going on with Sweet but it is not good and given the year and especially the last few weeks, if you are looking to the future, you would seriously be thinking about playing Visentini.

I'm mates with one of the back office analysts and all my information come from him. Pure impact on the game those two aren't in the top ten.
