I'm always willing to give our players a bit more leeway when they actually look like they care.
Sweet mightn't be the next Max Gawn but he competes well and definitely has a physical presence.
I think eventually Visentini and Whitlock may go past him but right now I'd consider him out #1 ruck.

He is our #1 ruck atm. I thought he showed a bit more grunt against Richmond and I had him in our best.

Don’t think he has been too bad. Only 50 games, should still improve some. Seems to be playing much more physically this year - wonder if that has been an instruction to support the midfield by bashing and crashing

I like Sweet. I wish he'd push forward or back and take a few more marks. He can mark, we just don't seem to use him as an outlet often? A lot has been spoken about wasting the pick on Soldo, but he's Sweet has been good value for that pick 50.
He's never in the right position for it.

He seriously struggles to read the play in both directions, which is why he's rarely in the right place for it. You can see so often that his opponent reads a high ball much earlier than him.

You can see the sides with a jumping ruckmen are taking advantage of the new centre ball up rule and giving their sides a real advantage when combined with the 6-6-6 rule.

Grundy, English, Gawn, Witts etc The young bloke from West Adelaide for Collingwood, had a great debut out jumping his GWS opponent.

But you need someone who also has strength for around the ground ball ups and throw ins. That's why Viz struggled against Xerri. He matched him jumping at centre ball ups but was bashed up around the ground. Sweet is the opposite.

He needs to improve his tapping. It's all well and good grabbing it from the contest, but when you can't kick or handball or run too well it just slows everything down.

I think sides will start using high leaping mobile players for the centre bounce then rotating them forward while the bulky ruckman subs in for the boundary and ball ups.

I'd rather Sweet as ruck take the oppo ruck and talls etc on the side port don't kick out to. Like has happened many times before and especially against Gawn of all players. Clearly can't always do set plays, but getting the team on board to do what they did with kicking out to Luko and then his long kick to Durds on the run is perfect. That's where you need your smart but fast players doing the work though and ones not likely to be tagged or followed as hard. Richards and Berry are prime pickings for that.

Sweet marking or being able to mark and hold the ball is probably a high up reason why Vis isn't in now. Even in the 2s he's still dropping the ball and in dangerous places like the backline.. Sweet can at least contest albeit not the best compared to other rucks but still good.

Jordan though he was Gryan Miers tonight, hitting up players with sizzling passes.

Geez he was good.

Dean Brogan must have said 6 times tonight on AA he wants to know what the hell Josh Carr told him after he dragged him after 5 minutes where he got smashed at centre ball ups.

Think the two rucks is giving them both a chance to work on their weaknesses but also fix what they’re struggling at in game. Sweet was dreadful at the centre but found a way to compete. And Vis was actually leading up at the ball carrier. Far from perfect but it’s working.

Yeah I didn't really think two rucks was the way forward for us this season but it is working and I wouldn't change it.

Not convinced Vis brings enough to the table to warrant a second ruck. 5 touches, 0 marks and a rush goal that probably would've missed if he wasn't 2 meters out.

The only reason they're playing two rucks right now is because they don't have any KPF in the Maggie's who can be brought in given that Lord and Lukosius are both injured and that Marshall is being played as a defender.

Sweet is one of the dumbest footy players I've ever come across - footy IQ of an idiot. Not getting Grundy when Port had the chance a few years ago has hurt this club more than any of us would like to admit.

We've struggled with rucks for a long time.

We really need to invest in any capacity for a ruck that is not in the lower percentiles of rucks.

That penultimate centre bounce where he smashed the ball was insane. He just had to kill the ball and we win.

Sweet and Visentini are getting games together because each one is not good enough to play in their own right.
Vis up forward is a joke.

I've never seen a dude that tall not being able to mark the ball since Teakle.
In the forward, he is barely making a contest. If you upgrade him to Dougie, then our forward like looks really dangerous.
