Suggestion seems to be he'll focus on finishing school. Can't see him doing more than playing at Sandy for the year - all good.
Could still grow taller which means he'll be a fair monster when fully developed with time in the gym.
CHF may be?

I think with both Battle and Skunk having big tanks we may be able to fit all four in the forward line with those two playing high half forward roles running their opponents off their feet and pushing down and snagging a few.

Membrey - Battle - Billings
Lonie - McCartin - Bruce

They'd all have to be playing good football though if the coaches were to go with that but having 3 of the 4 being so mobile it is possible to fit them all in.

Possibly, but it seems unlikely Battle would play next year if the other trio are fit.

HF: Membrey, McCartin, Gresham
F: Weller, Bruce, Long

Brett Anderson likened him to Gunston/Lynch, if he's anything like that I could definitely see him working with Bruce, McCartin and Membrey
Adelaide played with 4 bigger blokes in their forward line this year, perhaps we could do the same in 2-3 years time.

Walker (194cm) - McCartin (194cm)
Jenkins (199cm) - Bruce (197cm)
Lynch (191cm) - Battle (192cm)
McGovern (191cm) - Membrey (188cm)

Would have thought I was talking about an all time great still playing as good as ever, but you can put Membrey equal to him if you like.
IMO age doesnt come into it.
Well it does, that's why it happend.
The other forwards are the future and if you play roo forward till he packs up then the others won't be ready

its not so much how tall they are, but how they go when the ball hits the deck.

I would expect that as good as they say his tank is, he will find that going to the next level is tough. I think from here, the club will work with him to drop his weight, which should enhance his running capability, while working hard on the power based aspects of his game (jumping, changing direction, acceleration). I don't think we see him at all next year unless something dramatic happens on the injury front. But if we can keep him at the club then when Bruce is turning 30 Battle will be 24. That could be very handy indeed.

Saw him in the champs a bit and just sat down and started watching the All Stars game that I taped a couple of months ago, now that I know who to watch for. Liked what I saw of him in the champs and definitely liked what I've seen from him so far in the All Stars game.

For one, he has laid 3 tackles in the first 12-15 mins of the game, including a crunching one on SPS, where he charged at him like a bull from about 10m away and buried him into the turf over the boundary line. In his 3rd tackle he knocked the ball out in the tackle about 30m out from goal and it resulted in his team regaining possession and getting a goal a couple of seconds later. Has also done another couple of nice things and it's pretty clear that he has really good running capacity, as he's pushing a long way up the ground (and took one mark on the wing in acres of space) and then pushing hard back into the forward 50.

I also wouldn't be at all surprised if the reports we're hearing that he's now 194cm are true, as he definitely looks around that sort of height. Definitely looks more of a "tall" than a "medium".

If he is in fact 194cm tall now and still growing, he really ought to have a good AFL career, as he has enough going for him IMO.

Can certainly see the Tom Lynch comparisons and if he's taller than Tom then that's just a bonus, that could mean he'll be more of threat inside 50 and may not have to mainly rely on roaming far and wide to take his marks out in space.

The kid was taking the piss and having a laugh with his mates.
Cut him a break and get a sense of humour FFS.
Agree. Spoke well for an 18 year old and clearly joking around.
Professional attitute, doesn't drink and determined to give it everything he's got.
LOLs if he slid cos of that vid.

He'll be fine and like the other kids he's in good hands.

Why's he in year 11 as an 18 year old? Was he kept down?
You can attend high school as an overage student til you are 20 or 21 if your from overseas or interstate.
Actually shows he's got his shit together making sure he used his VFL time to benefit the rest of his life if he didn't make the AFL
