Caddys Manager:
Have itemised a few clubs.

Dont want to be specific, certainly be a number.

Melbourne not a club theyve spoken to.

Geelong North and Saints all expressed interest, hard to say what order of preference. Would suggest Geelongs compo pick is most attractive to the GC (no mention of Caddys preference).

Caddy will be a starting 22 10 year player for which ever club he goes to. Doubt he will ever be in the ranks of the top few mids in the AFL but a very good player he will be.

He will be a better player than that.

He will be in the best 3 midfielders at any club he goes to down the track, imho.

He could quite easily become a better player than either of Jack or Ben. And both of those could quite easily be better than Josh.

Their ceilings are similar, all-be-it different players.

Caddy plays a bit more outside, likes to get forward more, and hits the scoreboard.

People saying Caddy could possibly release Jack and Swallow to the outside are wrong, they will stay inside, it will just enable Josh to play his more natural style, he cheats a bit, but he is very effective at it.

This is going to last the full 3 weeks imo.

Interesting to hear him say that they will 'narrow down' over the coming weeks. Maybe get the clubs to lay their cards on the table and then he tells GC where he wants to go. I hope we can satisfy them.

Yeah, he seems a safe bet to be at least a "good player". With pick 14 you are getting into the speculative picks really. You may snag someone who, looking back in 10 years time, may be better, but I'd say Caddy is the safer bet, with potential to be very good

Well we know one thing. Any trade for caddy wont happen this week so we can prob assume any trade for pedo or H wont happen this week either

Pykie, is Josh Toy someone we should be looking at? I really rated him as a junior and seems to have had nothing but issues with GC and their Coaches since he arrived. Surely we'd be paying well unders for this bloke and he could turn into possibly an Elite afl player.

Just to throw the cat amongst the Pidgeons.

If GWS take Hansen as an uncontracted player, WE get a compo pick, then we will be well and truly in the running for Caddy!!!

Sorry to do this, but what number is geelong's compo pick?

it'll be the pick directly after Geelong's when its nominated.

this year it'd be 16 but i am unsure whether it can be used this year or not

Directly following Geelongs finishing position over the next 2 years.

I don't really understand GC's angle, surely they don't think the Cats are going to take a nose dive?

Possibly to trim the list, and bank a pick, but theres other ways they can achieve that, even with our first round pick.

Not sure if this is his poker face but the longer it drags on the less comfortable I am. Other clubs may weigh in, Geelong may also buckle and use their compo. I guess the alternative is we may also buckle and offer more. Would love to get it done early and look at other trades...

Especially if they trade caddy to them and in a way make them stronger.

Assuming we'd want to lose Lachie, trade the pick and that the pick would be as high as Geelongs.

Looks as though Geelong will now get caddy, Gold coast want compo pick. All they are after

Geelong want Hamish. If they want him more than Caddy NMFC are in the box seat.
