Their compo pick is tied to their position, so if they finish last in 2013 it will be pick 2, 1st, it will be end of round 1.

Isn't it the pick after their first round one next year? So depending on where the cats finish it could be below or above 14

The point of the pick isn't where it is. GC have to shed players this year and next so an extra first rounder next year is more of a luxury next year than this.

Yep, I'd say #14 and the second rounder would be the limit.

Not a bad trade from the Saints actually. Lee is exactly what they need, they can probably afford to pension off Kosi now.

Not only a goal kicker, but is a good ruck pinch hitter and can go into defense too. Can do it all.

Probably not a good thing from our perspective, GC having multiple second round picks, especially picks they dont really need.

Depending on how desperately GC want that compensation pick from the Cats.

Caddy and #24 for the Compensation pick would be a deal to good to refuse you would think, and one that could eventuate if it went down to the wire in week 3.

Then it is a lose / lose situation for both them and Caddy when he has to go into the draft.

Alternatively it goes back to the shy bloke at the pub who leaves his move to the last minute and ends up with the fat chick because all of the quality has gone...

I really, really dislike that analogy. "Fat chick" could be completely awesome, "shy bloke" could be nothing to write home about on any level. Can we think of something better?

Reckon Geelong want to hang onto the compo pick because they intend to hit next year in the attempt to get a last flag while Chappy, Bartel et all still around.

The year after, they'll go a West Coast style one year tank and use the compo then, maybe get two top 10 picks in the same draft.
