The way i see it, we are still are strong chance to get him. He has obviously nominated a few clubs as he doesnt want a repeat of last year. Also fair to say North is his preferred club for a few reasons.

So the ball is now in our court, if we can come up with a suitable trade we will get him. Would be silly for him to place all his eggs in the one basket, so it is now up to us to bring him here.

So what you're saying, despite all the ridiculous hoohah, is what most intelligent posters knew all along. It's about satisfying the Gold Coast. Ok, fine. Didn't see that coming. :p

The feeling in this thread is that because we dont have the highest pick to offer that we are therefore no chance to get him. It is up to North to work out a suitable trade to get this over the line, our pick will be very competative with something else thrown in.

Josh Caddy is being chased by several clubs.

St Kilda want him to replace Goddard. What can St Kilda offer him ?
Geelong believe they are still a powerhouse and that Josh would be in great company.

I guess from Josh's perspective he needs to sort out the truth from fantasy.

North is an ideal fit for an exciting young player, he will have peers around the same age, who will be even better in 2013.

IMO that is exactly what we should be selling.

Ziebell, Bastinac, Cunnington, Harper, Atley, Macmillan, McKenzie, Kennedy, C. Delaney, Curran and Black all in the same age bracket, Swallow, Adams, Hansen, Goldstein, Thomas and Tarrant a few years older.

i see we are now in the race for koby stevens aswell
so does that mean we have dropped off from caddy a bit or would be hoping to get both?

Back up plan.

Where was it reported?

It's probably not a good strategy to be totally focused on one player.
I reckon for a trade to work successfully, there must be a lot of planning, anticipating, persuading and negotiating.
Is Koby Stevens a similar type of player ?

also Bendigo's Jake Stringer has also kicked a perfect score in the Brad Johnson kicking test. A lot of Jack Darling about him, could fall down the order due to injury
was a lot of talk we were trying to get an earlier pick in the draft because we wanted this kid
would we be better off getting caddy or stringer?

that facebook page has been right on the money tho

yes, because it just regurgitates everything stated on TWR, the HUN, Bigfooty and every other football related media outlet, it was known a few weeks ago many of the Victorian clubs were doing their due diligence on him......hardly ground breaking news.

oh ok i look at that saves me scrolling through pages n pages of dribble on that drafts and trading board

difficult to say really. Jakes best is top pick standard, before his leg break he was a deadset star, however his form this year was only a shadow of it. If we do keep pick 14, and hes available I'd love us to take him.

Stringer obviously more of a risk, rather then Caddy who is pretty much guranteed to be a good AFL player.

it has been reported saints are interested in mitch brown from WC. Seems Cats, Saints are interested in other players apart from Caddy whilst we seem to really only be interested in Caddy. Hopefully works in our favour.

I'm gonna say something pretty controversial here and might upset a few people, but i'll say it anyway.

I don't wanna risk trading pick 14 for Caddy if J Stringer is still available at pick 14. There is no evidence to say caddy will be better than Stringer in the long run and it will be an opportunity gone begging. I would rather us go for Koby Stevens on the cheap as a back up plan for Caddy. He might not be as good as Caddy, but in the long run it'll be better as we will (hopefully) have Stringer.

Do you think Stinger will still be avaliable - cant gaurentee that...

Just because it's not in the media doesn't mean we're not interested in others.

As I was saying, it is a risk we would have to take, but it's a risk i'm willing to take. if not, theres surely gotta be one slider that we could pick up for a bargain. Think of Atley. I trust McDonald and co to get a decent prospect.
