Why? Because this thread is ******* with the time space continuum. I would've thought a mod would know this.

I'm confused, Tef. You've been banging on about how it would take something 'extraordinary' for Caddy to not be at North next year. Now apparently that 'extraordinary' happening is Geelong offering him more coin.

Is this your first trade week?

(Someone quote me as I am on ignore).

Pretty clear H2B/Tef is old school. Years ago his thinking was quite logical, but it would seem list management issues have left him in the dark ages and the FA era has him lost as a relic.

I too am on ignore for suggesting we Trade Pedo/Hmac and delist/trade Warren, Edwards, McKinley and rookie Speight. Amazing whats happened in the weeks after i first stated this isnt it.

Insular thinking is no longer the name of the game, its a bigger football world nowdays. Maybe if we gets him one of them new fangled phones you can carry with the interwebs he will catch up. Guess you cant ignore reality as easily as you can those thinking ahead of you.

Respect for opinions that were worthy in the past, but clearly the game has moved past him. Trade for 4th rounder :)

It's called bet hedging.

With sound logic mixed with flawed.

They may want a pick this year to pass onto the crows. It will depend on what the crows want, this year or a future pick. If Tippett picks GC the priority pick maybe out of play.

The plot thickens. I hadn't even thought that the Tippett trade may play a part.

This thread isn't really a threat to the space time continuum.

I derive the following from the pre emanate guide of time travel I speak of course of the back to the future trilogy.

In BTTF2 Doc is in the Delorean in 1955 when it is struck by lightning and it sends him back to 1885. Directly after this Marty receives a hand delivered letter from the Doc from 1885 saying its all good I am cool in 1885 I have hidden the Delorean in a cave find it and go back to 1985.

BTTF3 Marty recovers the Delorean has the Doc (the 1955 version) fix it up and he heads to 1885 to pick up the doc (the 1985 version that is living in 1885) Upon arrival in 1885 Marty hides the Delorean in the same hiding place that he found it, and this is the problem.

If the Doc went back in what we will call Delorean A.
and Marty went back in what we will call Delorean B.
Marty hid Delorean B in the same place that the Doc had hid Delorean A, 2 Deloreans same time same place, same Delorean.

If the above can happen and the space time continuum was fine this thread is nothing to worry about.

OF, I don't care what Delorean, or Tardis, Caddy got in to tour Arden St, just so long as he toured 2012, not 2007, Arden St.

But Delorean A, parked by Doc in 1885, only stays in the mine in what we'll call Reality 1 (Marty does not visit 1885, Doc send off the letter and lives the rest of his life there, gets buried with the Clara tombstone). If Marty goes back to 1885, as advised in 1955, then we switch to Reality 2 - and when he arrives there, Reality 1 becomes non-existent so there is only Delorean A, which he hides in the mine. There's never a Delorean B. The Delorean Doc hid has vanished, as surely as the photos of Marty's dopey siblings did in episode 1. That's the internal logic of BTTF world. It has many holes, but that's not one of them.

Anyway, I'm starting to think we won't hear much of interest now until the last day or three of the trade period. We seem to be out of the free agency loop, and GC should wait now until they see who has what FA compensation and/or picks and players from other trades to offer.

Wait a minute, OF. Ah.......... Are you telling me that you built a time machine........ out of a DeLorean?

Speaking of time travel I wish it was next week so we had some answers to the Caddy question.

Interesting... Geelong possibly interested in mini-draft, with their compo pick the likely bait. Hmmm.

From the AFL website...

Melbourne, Fremantle and possibly the Brisbane Lions and Geelong, are likely to focus on pick No.2, which would be used to select WA key forward Jesse Hogan or classy Victorian midfielder Josh Kelly.

Sources have suggested the Demons, Fremantle and the Lions would select Hogan with pick No.2, while Geelong's interest was around Kelly.

If it remains interested in the mini-draft, Geelong would be expected to deal its first-round compensation pick received for the loss of Gary Ablett, which is yet to be activated.

The Lions hold pick No.8 in the draft, while Fremantle, who currently enters the draft at pick No.16, would need to package players with its first selection, with the Giants seeking a ruckman and strong-bodied key defender.

So who would be dealing for that first pick in the mini draft?
Dogs, using picks 5/6 and getting one back from GWS.

And is Josh Kelly the son of the ex-North player?
Yes, I believe so. Pykie was big wraps for Jesse Hogan too, iirc.

Like the way this is unravelling. If Geelong use their compo pick in the mini-draft, our pick trumps theirs for Caddy fwiw. If they don't, and we happened to be interested in the likes of Hogan or Kelly, then if Freo's first pick plus player is in the running, something similar from us would be too. (Pick 14 plus ??)?

My guess is they are confident that Caddy would prefer to go to Geelong, so they can just offer their first rounder which is essentially the same as ours.

Meaning they get Caddy, Kelly (both North connected  ), and H?!
