If he chooses North it will be because he wants to be here, not because of money.

Yeah, I always thought "touring the facilities" was a euphemism for "making sure I'll get paid enough to make nominating your club worthwhile".

He was impressed with the club, and has North links every way he turns.

My gut feel is still Geelong but we'll see.

Do you have data for this? with a median a mean and outsiders?

i know its not its not a lot of money in relative terms, but throwing this king of money at kids is a bad idea in my books....

I think that is the 2013 figure, but don't quote me on it. I think it was AD claiming the $250k figure, but I don't have the source handy.

All you need is a leather paddle to whack them with and your S & M initials will suit your post perfectly mate.

"Caddysack".........brilliant! :thumbsu:

It goes against all things 'normal' if a youngstar turns his nose up at clubs like Geelong and chooses North.
People are starting to believe that the 'era' at geelong is over, it's only a matter of time before players will stop choosing them as number 1 preference if they think theres opportunity for premierships at other clubs.

Eggsactly, you see 90% of the media stories surrounding North over the last ten years have been based on doom and gloom. It's a difficult task for some to be positive about our future. And signing a Caddy ( if he nominates us ) will cause serious angst amongst the North bashing brigade.

* I hope we play hard ball like never before, offer Gc our first pick and if that doesn't suit, go to GWS offer them our first pick they take Caddy in the pre-season he can spend a season at Werribee and they trade him to us for nicks in 2014.

Basically giving GWS a first rd draft pick for a pre season one. GC would spew.

I know that North doesn't have the money of some other clubs; but if any club of the 'poorer' clubs can win a premiership, it will be North. Creativity and hardwork can go along way in a club.

Whats money got to do with it...we still spend nearly all of the salary cap. We are growing and heading in the right direction. We have state of the art facilities. Whats not to like?

Sorry, haven't been on here for a few weeks and cbf reading over everything, but with HMac requesting a trade to Geelong, does that somehow give us a bit more of a chance of getting Caddy considering they are the other major player? Is there some kind of deal that we can do involving the two and maybe draft picks?

Salary cap applies to the players not to the football department. We are not an affluent club but look how far we have come. I agree with you. Money isn't everything, even for footballers.
