I've been told the opposite.
One way to confirm, *rings Scotty*...
Didn't he finish 2nd or 3rd in the big PS run with Walker and the Ballroom? Caddy may be fit but he will better next year...sounds about right to me. When I have seen him in the two's he looks better using his running. Not pure inside , more inside and outside.

Based on the chat from the GCS board pre the game against them I tend to agree he is not fully fit to our level yet.
Their Mod suggested that their fade outs are due to them completing only a 75-80% training load all preseason - as the full load kills the kids to early.

Makes sense in that their list is full of kids and that killing them before the season starts is dumb. Its a long grind not a sprint.
For mine, haven't seen Cads play out the 4th a star after a full game. Not saying the kid is rubbish but with a missed season with injury and an 80% loaded training schedule prior to getting here....

Id say there is validity to the not fully fit suggestion at this point. Once he gets the tank hover, he has got the the skills...

On Tweet the Coach, Scott said he's confident Caddy will force his way into our best 22 by the end of the season.

Well yeah, the only problem is that Chris Scott's hypothetical best 22 looks something like this:

B: JHunt Bews Lonergan Rivers Guthrie
HB: Mackie Thurlow Taylor Brown Enright
C: Kelly Bartel Duncan THunt Caddy
HF: Stokes Menzel Podsiadly Vardy Johnson
F: Motlop Chapman Hawkins Varcoe Smedts
Foll: McIntosh Simpson Selwood Christensen Corey Horlin-Smith
Int: Murdoch Blicavs West Sheringham Burbury Walker Schroder Cowan Stringer McCarthy Eardley Hartman Kersten Bathie Hamling

I like that 22!

Yep you have nailed it!!!

I reckon he could be a favoured Cat. GFC obviously like what they have seen - and reckon he will become a good player. Not sure if he will make it this year but confident he will make it by 2014.

This is not based on form but on what GFC see - which has proven to be a pretty good indicator.

Maybe the next 11 games will see him play quite a few of them and slowly, game by game, oncrease his effectiveness. Same is true of GHS.

I just cannot see who they edge of the team if there are no injuries.

:D:thumbsu:
But some of these threads here are are funny.

"Kersten must come into the forward line."

"Yeah, but not at the expense of Vardy."

"No, of course not. But if Vardy stays, we will need Walker for some physical presence to balance things out."

"That sounds fair. With Biclavs coming back next week, Walker will add another dimension in our forward line. And also help out in the ruck division. Dawson and West won't be able to ruck all day by themselves."

"OK. Agree with that. They will be great support for Hawkins and Pods. Now, lets sort out our small forwards!"

I'd say that Joel Corey would have to be top of the list. Great though he may be, his lack of speed could cost us badly in september.

Except, of course, that he's played much better than either Caddy or HSmith this season.
And he's still faster than the latter.

Don't disagree Fred, Just meant that if they perform well enough that they must be played in the best 22 come finals that Corey is probably the lowest hanging apple.

Corey has been in our best 5 consistently of late.....he's a hard bodied fearless in and under.....something we need in finals and also something we dont have a heap of in reserve.

Right now a mile in front of Horlin-Smith and Caddy.

Horses for courses. If we have a wet windy wintry final, which can happen, Corey is a no-brainer to be best 22.
If we get conditions like 08 GF, he could be a liability.

Booby......you have been in Iceland too long. :rainbow:

I've been living in Barcelona since January! Too much pasíon! And I'm not talking about the Mexican telenovela!

Then maybe you should seriously consider Reykjavik instead?

;)

I'm "summering" in Scandinavia now so I'm getting there slowly! But the Icelanders have a wicked green schnapps called Brennivín... it makes me slightly scared.

Fair point - but if Smithy is playing as an outside speed guy we have WAY bigger problems. I want Smithy in and under feeding it out to Varcoe, Motlop, Poodle and Bundy thanks.
