Thats a bit harsh, he did pretty well as a stopper last year.

Agree. What is the point of criticising a player who clearly has something to contribute to the team. He may not be the all round Mr Smooth with pace to burn that everyone loves, but he does a handy job.

Stoppers often don't get the credit they deserve, I know I'm guilty of it myself. Unless they're niggly, in your face taggers where we can all see the job they're doing.

M. Carr usually goes about his work quietly and effectively, kind of a midfield version of Parker. I usually don't realise what a good job he's done till I see the stats for the guy he was playing on.

If M Carr goes it could open the door for Dunn?
I saw the second half of the WP v EF game yesterday and Riley was good.

I think we have a few players who can cover for him. I would prefer to see Drum come in rather than Dunn, but have not really seen much of Dunn. If he is ready for selction and knocking the door down, then that is a real good sign.

Who won , and how did the dockers players go?
EF won by two points.

Ryley looked good, played midfield.
Mourish spent a lot of time on the bench, but looks good.
Ibo didn't do much, nor did Campbell. I think these two look so much better when they're in the better comp with better skilled players around them.
Foster was good, but at this stage just looks a WAFL player to me - who knows?

CHEER CHEER THE BLUE AND THE WHITE :D

This backs up my "Brett Peake Theory of Evolution". Some guys are just that class above WAFL so that they look bad when there. Brett Peake looked terrible when he played WAFL, but slotted straight into AFL intensity from game one. I think Ibbo will be exactly the same. Maybe Campbell to a lesser extent.

If you want another example from another sport, just look at Brad Hogg. Barely gets a state game, but one of our best 1-day players for the past few years...

Funny - the paper said that WP won by 3 points and Campbell kicked 5....

C'mon - who's right and who's wrong?

Sorry about that - either the scoreboard was wrong or I'm losing my mind? Don't answer that IP. :o
I did make Ripper and Reveler happy for a while tho.

Campbell must of kicked 4 in the first half because he definately only kicked one while I was there, and it was a socker from 2 metres out. He was very quiet while I was there, but if he did kick 4 in the first half I can understand why he'd be quiet in the second - he would've been knackered in that heat!

And those East Freo supporters need every opportunity to be happy - even if it's not "real happiness".... ;) :D

(Sorry - I should've put the ;) in the original question... :o )

I would say that Ryley has no chance of playing round one.

Matt Carr does fumble the ball at times and his kicking skills are poor. He is very good at shutting down an opponent but very rarely hurts the opposition going the other way. I don't like seeing him in the centre square.

If Matt Carr gets rubbed out it will improve Haddrill's chances of playing. We might move Dodd from the backline to a tagging role requiring Haddrill to slot in since Johnson and Dodd will be missing from the back 6.

Talking about WAFL scratchies - Blackie didn't play on Friday night like we thought he would. He will, apparently, suit up in the red and white for the derby this Friday night. I am "s-o-o-o" going! It will be a veritable Freo-feast!! :thumbsu:

I'll be there for sure.
