Update, players are beating their previous benchmarks whilst preseason hasn't started.

Then the masses wil be saying "ohh best preseason ever again"
Whilst every interview will be how “it’s great to have a fresh voice in Josh Carr leading the group and putting his own stamp on the playing style and he has some ideas on how we can improve and we all loved Ken however we’ve really taken to what Josh wants to do going forward and we’re really excited as a group and can’t wait for Round 1 …..”

Here's a bit of fun for those getting impatient for the real deal. Just pretend this is it so you can go on happily with your day.

I think the statement everyone would love to hear on this forum is an announcement whereby Koch, Cardone, Osborn, Restas, Holly and Richo are no longer affiliated with the PAFC.

True. Or Koch deciding he wants to return the club to member control.

I just went from six to midnight reading that

Probably true.

Though is do think that there is a small chance that he does it as his parting gift when he finally decides to go for the ego hit of being the guy who did it.
We need to get someone whispering in his ear to get that to happen. (I couldn't do it without having to resist the urge to periodically clip him on the back of the head.)

Jacob Surjan has been added as a development coach and will lead the SANFL side, Cam Sutcliffe will continue in his role as development coach alongside Mitch Clisby, while coaching director Andy Collins will support the entire group. Matthew Lobbe also remains in his current position as head of development.

Getting a guy who got sacked to coach the Maggpies. Not sure how I feel about that. Only Lobbe and Sutcliffe are left.

All depends on why he was sacked, doesn't it?

Apparently a guy who was a former sanfl coach of the year, coached his team to two league grand finals, coached a reserves premiership, knows the sanfl inside-out (was also development manager at the sanfl) and who knows Josh Carr is a bad choice.

If only we could have found a Victorian we've never heard of.

I reckon Josh will get Shaun B more involved in the footy department and get him away from his office job at Port.

I have no evidence of this just the belief that Hinkley's ego stopped him using Shaun as much as possible whereas Josh won't be worried about it.

Can see Josh getting other Port people that he had relationships with when he played and then when he coached at North Adelaide, being used by him to improve the squad.

6 PAFCers, 4 outsiders.

5 of the PAFCers have spent time at other clubs, 4 of them around a decade or more away from Port.

Edit I forgot Hartlett spent 1 year back at Westies in 2022 before returning to Port as a development coach in 2023. Lobbe spent 2 years at Carlton and 2 at Werribee in the VFL as a playing assistant coach before returning to Port.
