Yeah, hopefully Dewie is close to Bailey and he comes over next year.

I feel like Zac is about to break out in the midfield he is playing that good.

Really should be going after Bailey this year if there was a way.

Imagine for a moment that we do pull in Bartel and Dew on top of Collins and Webster and the elevation of Parham.

In a little more than a month after Hinkley, Davies and Chadbro leave the building, we will have dramatically transformed our football department.

It's as close to a reboot as we're ever likely to get.

I'm all in.

Had a dream last night that Bartel was seen snorting white powder in his carr. Surely an omen that I should go snort some white powder in my carr.

I had a dream about feeding Nadia a home made lasagne.

I don't know if we have the capital with Dougie et al.

Bailey has to be starting at close to two first rounders by now. Maybe a first and a second if we are lucky.
At worst Bailey will get Brisbane a 2026 end of first round pick (Band 2) as a free agent.

So the trade has to offer much better value than that since Brisbane would also be giving up Zac Bailey for a year.

And this is if Brisbane believe they won't be able to hold on to him. So you're looking at a first round pick from a bottom club, or multiple late first round picks from a club expected to contend.

Or enough second round picks to out weight a first rounder if Brisbane have another Academy/Father-Son option in 2026. And that has complications that they can't carry more picks into the draft than they have list spots.

My favorite part of that whole event was people online commenting that that have the same tray and had bought it at K-mart
That is what would have upset Nadia most. She wanted internet clout from the event but instead got tripped up by the cheapness of the plate from someone so concerned about appearances.

Can confirm it was $13

I know this purely as an advocate for Anko products and no other reasons. I will not be taking questions.

So, unpopular opinion possibly I haven’t read the threads in depth, but I reckon this will emerge as why the succession plan will retrospectively seen as a success.

Its my opinion now that the plan allowed Josh Carr to quietly work through what football people he wanted around him, and to approach those people through the season, knowing he can use his head coach position as leverage, whilst no one is actually looking at him.

There’s too much change for this to be the last few weeks.

The one ruthless conversation I'm hoping Josh has had is with Butters. Tell us what your true intentions are because if you intend to leave at the end of next season then it's best for both you and the club to offload you this off season. If he truly is undecided then fair enough and play on but if he's just waiting out time then he should be moved on.

With the draft changes it's probably better for us to match his FA contract and force the trade.

What advantage is there in moving him on this off-season?

This year's draft class sucks, which means they'd be looking for future picks and wouldn't get any immediate return on such a trade. Meanwhile, they can wait until next year and still get a bounty by matching any RFA offer sheet he agrees to.

Mmm good point.

Not interested in picks for this year's draft. All the F/S and Academy kids will push out the picks further down. I would also not entertain trading for future picks since we don't know where teams will finish next season. I would rather deal with the Butters situation when its time to.

With 99% of players they would be taking it easy next year if they intend to leave the following year.
Player comes to mind is Craig Bradley before he fk’d off to Carlton.
Butters is an exception to that rule, he only knows one way and that’s flat out.
So I believe will get a committed Butters next year.
I also see your point about not wanting someone there if they are intending to leave.
Be nice if he’d sign up this off season but it won’t happen.
I can see him going unfortunately.

The ruthless conversation to have with Zak is that if he's looking to explore his options as a RFA, we'll match.
