One of the best things for a supporter base is hope.

The most frustrating thing about the end of the Ken era is that even when we were smashing it in the minor round we didn't dare hope.
Prime example in finals was getting walloped by Geelong then a week later sneaking the win against the Hawks, then getting walloped by Sydney. Just so flakey and inconsistent

Likening it to the Matthew Primus era is non sensical. Primus has 3 no-name assistants in 2011. Carr has much more support which includes 2 ex-senior coaches.

Rucci is a moron.
He didnt even know what Andy Collins role is. This is allegedly one of the most informed journos re Port. Jesus wept.

Rooch is not a credible voice anymore (if he ever was).

Never breaks stories and then guesses - only to be wrong every single time.

He doesn’t even know the basic facts such as Collins being Director of Coaching.

Time for a dignified exit from the media landscape.

Rutten also mentioned that he was all in on this because it was a new era with new people. Whether you think Hinkley was a good, bad or average coach, we would all agree that the place was incredibly stale and that would've been turn off for anyone wanting to come here.

We've even dropped the ball a bit in the last couple years with being a destination club for players. We've really struggled to land anyone of note since JHF. Hopefully this changes as this new era is clearly now upon us.
Pale. Stale. And follicly challenged.

Rucci is one of those that hitched his wagon so securely to Ken that if the Carr regime is an instant success he is going to look like a moron, so deep down like Kane he is probably hoping it goes to shit so he doesn't look like a fool.

Not sure he realises he already is a fool.

That’s why I’m so excited and optimistic about next year and why I’m emotionally invested in the results again.

I want all those people that argued with us about Hinkley for so many years to look and feel like the absolute fools that they always were.

Why is he calling very seasoned people rookies? Some have even been head coaches in their owm right or won premierships at sanfl level. The only real rookie is Hartlerr but even thats debatable as hes been a head coach and been involved on senior game days.

It’s a bit of a surprise appointment to me having someone who’s never been in this role before

You mean like Chris Davies the cricketer?

Hopefully Rucci is salty at the new coaching group because he's already been told he's off the books for next year.

If we are stick with his crap, he's going to need to come up with some new content for his weekly articles given he can't just keep endlessly writing about how bad 2012 was

If they wanted an admin person, they wouldn't have chased Jimmy Bartel. He has no GM type admin background.

Sounds like Paul Stewart did a good job with the admin and paper work stuff acting GM Footy Ops since early September when CD left. I knew he was head of AFL player welfare at the club, but when I checked his profile a few hours ago, I found out he is also SANFL Head of Football so he probably worked closely with CD. Don't know how long he has done that role.

Richo in his announcement of Rutten's appointment said - "The significant changes we've made over the last couple of months with the combined experience and capability we've compiled across our football department allowed us to think differently about this role.

That was obvious with them seriously talking to Bartel about the job. So it was footy first, admin second. Dare I say it after that ragtag bunch of challengers to the Richmond board in 2016 - a Focus on Football approach.
