Must say that goal was a ripper! He just found a way to do it.
But he will be VFL bound for most of the season, surely. Physically, he doesn't look AFL ready. The game on Weds night had nothing like the pressure and lack of space he'll experience at senior level. Plus I'm already planning a year of watching him in the twos. A major attraction for the VFL in 2017.

Seems to have some of daddy's tricks.
I'm in love with this batch of youngsters we've drafted and brought in..... Maynard, Darcy, DAICOS (I love that I'll be able to get excited at another mane bearing this name), grundy, rowdy jnr, treloar to name a few. Our youngsters get me excited... we will see a flag soon.

I reckon he's grown about 3cm and added an amazing amount of muscle to his frame since November. His thighs are now like tree stumps and he has that low centre of gravity like his father. That means he's hard to shift off the ball and won't go to ground like the taller skinner players. If he keeps up his rate of improvement he could find himself in the seniors by the second half of the season. Since Krackour retired we have lacked that crumber in the forward line that most other teams have. Don't think he will ever be as fast as Eddie Betts, but he won't lack any of the skills that Eddie Betts has.

One point to also note is that he definitely isn't undersized.
He'll fill out further obviously, but standing beside Mayne he was only a couple of inches shorter. Unless Mayne's height has been misrepresented throughout his career Daicos is now 180+ which will please those that were concerned by his height (or lack thereof).
He appears capable in traffic so once he builds up his core and running capacity he could be an intriguing prospect.

I seem to remember 2016 was the year for that flag? Baby steps are needed at Collingwood. Improvement > finals > top 4 > flag. Hell a season in which we don't go backwards would be a good start!
the game was circle work with tackling. vfl will likely be a better standard.

Voss like handball (without the flogness). I almost liked that more than the goal. Looks like he has exceptional vision.
YEah, I'm always a few years ahead of time. This year, will be our 2009. I see us massive rise this year (I've said that before too). Provided the injuries steer clear we'll be a massive mover and shaker this year. I don't the flag is out of the question but a lot would have to go right this season.

Dave's a bit young to remember prime Daicos and Brown. He will learn. He also jumped off Grundy for a period while others stuck with him as he improved. Dave is still human and able to get it wrong, just like his father Derek.
