Yeah he has been pretty average coming in. The height he is his kicking has to be pin point and it’s really inconsistent atm. I think there’s a spot for him but he’s a while away.

Has some nice traits but looks neither strong enough nor anywhere near ready just yet, however, he is getting valuable experience whilst others are injured at the moment

Yeap, need to just keep playing him. Already just as good an option as Mayne, Blair, Greenwood, and Appleby. Will improve with experience.

Blair yes. Maybe Mayne. The other 2 actually can play defined roles, which can help the team.

It's good that Daicos has had another taste of senior footy, but he's some way off. I'd give Brown another taste, or Sier.

Reminds me a bit of Gary Ablett Jnr early days. Looks good when he has it but not getting involved enough and floating in and out. Gary was quite underwhelming early on, his first 50 games were bog average. Then he clicked. I am not saying he is the next Gary Ablett but I think his development curve will be similar.

Not ready. Store in VFL for 12 months and try again.
He has got something intangible about how he plays but the pace and intensity is beyond him at present.

Gaz debuted as a 17 year old (before the rules changed) and played 12 games in year 1. Kicked 25 goals year 2 as an 18 year old which is pretty solid. Still, I like the comparison in relation to how he floats in and out of games. The skill is there, just needs to toughen up and build more of a tank. Let's hope he turns out half as good as Ablett!

The issue is our lack of outside midfielders. We have an abundance of inside midfielders in Brown, Sier and Wills to name a few.

I've never really enjoyed any of Daicos' games to this point. When Daicos, Brown and Stephenson were all playing at the start of the year, you would see flashes from Stephenson (his speed and goal sense) and Brown (his inside work), but Daicos' weapons just weren't shown on AFL level.

Granted, I think there is an upside to him. He does appear to be a smooth mover of the ball... which looks great, but his disposal is still very poor.

He needs a couple more pre-seasons in him. Glad to keep him around and develop him, but his inclusion into the side speaks more of our lack of outside midfielder depth than it does about how good Daicos is.

I don't think Daicos and Brown have played a game together at AFL level this year.

0 tackles and 9 pressure acts is telling, IMO. Tells me his workrate wasn’t there yesterday (Mayne wasn’t much ahead though). I’m inclined to give him the Suns match as an opportunity to atone for what was a pretty poor showing, but I won’t begrudge the match committee if they see it differently.

Robert’s comment that combined with Brown we’d have a complete player on our hands seems quite astute to me. With the age profile of our midfield I don’t see room for both long term so whoever gets it in the area the other is stronger first could prove a decisive edge for their individual growth.

there are elements of his game I really like, but he does need to get bigger so those tackles can stick. Overall I didn't mind his game - he will be vastly improved once he's had more senior exposure, so anything he does now is a bonus.

Classy mover who looks a year or two away.

Sounds about right. I don't quite agree with any suggestion that we should load 50 games into him, because I do think he needs to start showing a bit more than he has been, but it'll be at least another pre-season before his value becomes apparent.

He's not really keeping anyone out of the side at the moment, so I'd be happy to see him given a few more games to show some improvement.
