What? Does this make any sense to anyone? Seems like he's fallen down our side of the argument.
from memory, we were playing without some very good players vs. sydney but they would have been back the following week.

Hey that's sounds like us your describing there Martyk.Tell me what the difference is between:
-A forward missing an easy set shot in front of goal
-A midfielder turning the ball over, which costs a goal
-A defender losing his man in a tight pack situation, which causes a goal
NOTHING!! They all cost goals, whether it be directly or indirectly. Its just that tunnel visioned morons like yourself need this spelled out to them.

Have you ever seen a game of football?lol settle down tough guy... take a chill pill or go to a strip joint and crack a $t1ff or something.
i dont rate josh hcampaigner and many others probably don't as well. if you do, im fine with that but lets move on.
i still regard hunt's mistake on nick davis as bad as jim styles' one.
Have you ever seen a game of football?
I'm guessing not.
i still regard hunt's mistake on nick davis as bad as jim styles' one. there are just times when you CAN'T afford to make mistakes, that was one of them and no Geelong supporter should EVER forget it!
The response I expected... Irrational like everything else you post.
Why don't we all blame Gary Snr for our grand final lossess? He played $hithouse in all but '89. Wouldn't you consider those to be times when "you CAN'T make mistakes"? I don't need a chill pill bud, you need something to back up this rubbish you post.. Come back at the beginning of next season, maybe you've learned something about the game.
No one is denying he's currently out of form. It happens to even the best. But at his best, he's a very important part of our best 22. Stop changing the subject - you brought up the 2005 Semi-Final. We are disagreeing with your ridiculous statements there, not his current form.im here to stay, cant say the same for josh hunt. how did he go in the reserves today? i hope he never plays at AFL level again, we DONT need him.

They are fundamentally wrong.if you disagree with me, that's fine. i stand by statements.
St Kilda would have beaten us in the PF in 2005. Had we somehow have stolen that game from somewhere, the Eagles would have mercilessly flogged us.
We were so far away from a flag that year it isn't funny.
Why is that, we outperformed the eventual premiers on their own ground for most of the match, with an undermanned side to boot, so why would we have to "steal" the match from St Kilda or get flogged by the Eagles?
Not saying we would have won the flag, just that your assessment seems a bit harsh.

I have to agree that we would have lost to the saints. Sydney were a good match-up for the saints back in '05 as the saints played a very open game, while Sydney are Sydney... flooding / stoppages.
With the injuries we had (from memory all the talls + Chapman) we would have been at incredibly long odds to win 2 in a row against Saints / West Coast.

We were spent - Kingy was injured, as was Chappy, Riccardi, and a few more from memory (Nablett as well).
St Kilda would have overrun us, even taking into account their problems.
The only thing that stopped West Coast from being the 2005 premiers was Sydney's determination and will. They would have comfortably accounted for St Kilda/Geelong in the GF.
That's only half of his argument. Not completely, technically you could make the argument, as PF has done, that if Hunt had done his job properly and manned up on Davis, he wouldn't have kicked the goal that cost us the game, ergo Hunt is responsible for us losing.
Personally I don't subscribe to that theory, you can't blame one incident in a hundred and twenty minutes of footy for a loss; I reckon the truth falls somewhere in the middle of the opposing views here, while that one incident isn't the sole reason we lost, Hunt can't be absolved of all blame as some here seem to be doing, he was given a task and failed miserably, simple as that.
