I wasnt worried. Seemed like his turn was due as a leader of GWS to front the media.

But then I read this thread and you campaigners slowly give me anxiety because one of you pricks might know something.

One of the best 24 hours on BF ever. Not since the golden days of the * hot topic board has so much energy been expended in such a short time over so little.

Ooga booga.

WADA in over the top.

Are we buying he hasn't talked to his Dad about his next contract?
To be fair there probably wasn't much talk about the contract, more of where in Melbourne is he going to live.

Oh that is classic dumb footy player - "Don't tell them that I've been talking to Dad about the contract" - stuff.

Almost like when Trump proved he didn't leak Israeli intelligence by telling everyone at a press conference in Israel that he didn't leak that Israeli intelligence.

That talk about hopefully doing some damage at the end of the year was quite restrictive too.

Oh hey Dad who used to work in the same industry as me, I was thinking I should talk to you about this massive life and career defining opportunity.

NO SON!

That wouldn't be right.

A better question would've been... What game was Phil at on the weekend?
Does he still have a membership??

In-demand Giant Josh Kelly unfazed by $9m contract talk
Adam Curley May 31, 2017 4:02 PM

JOSH Kelly is no closer to deciding his future but the Greater Western Sydney midfielder says he's not unsettled by the scrutiny over his next contract.

Kelly, who is in the final year of his current deal at the Giants, is in huge demand around the competition, with North Melbourne leading the charge after reportedly offering him a multi-season contract worth $9 million earlier this year.

The speculation surrounding the 22-year-old continues to grow with each passing week he remains unsigned beyond 2017, but his form hasn't been affected, with Kelly averaging 28.5 possessions per game after 10 rounds.

The Giants remain confident they can keep the rising star, and it seems all parties are content with how the negotiations are progressing.

"I'm feeling no pressure from the club at all, which has been fantastic. I'm happy with where I'm at, the club is happy, and my manager is happy," he said on Wednesday.

"There'll be a whole bunch of factors that will come into my decision when the time is right, but right now I'm just focusing on my footy.

"I love the club, I love playing footy here, I love my teammates, so it's not an issue right now.

"It is a bit hard with the boys ripping into you constantly. There's no sympathy from them, but I just try and put that to the side and don't try and focus on it too much."

On one side, a monster pay packet is a major factor to consider for Kelly, but the chance of premiership success at the Giants over the next few years is likely to pull him heavily in the opposite direction.

The laid-back onballer acknowledged both, but reiterated his stance with more than half the season to play and the Giants well in contention.

"They are the factors that need to be considered eventually, but we're 10 rounds into the season, I'm still contracted with the Giants, and I can't afford to think about those things right now," he said.

"I'll let the media have fun with things like that (money), I haven't really thought about that too much, I don't let that control my thinking."

Kelly is part of the GWS leadership group and a popular member of the club, and while his name isn't likely to drop out of media circles anytime soon, he's focused on maintaining his form and helping his team to some on-field success.

"It's been building since the day I got here and we've come a long way, it's a special group," he said.

"I've got great teammates, great coaches, and great support staff, it is exciting.

"We're focusing on this year at the moment and hopefully we'll be able to do some damage come the end of the year."

Don't know why.. but a picture of, Gawn, doing the double python, seems appropriate..
Please get that flog off this board. I cant stand him

In this situation he's going to say the most GWS-positive thing that's true.
So by process of elimination:

Not: "I've just signed a great deal that will see me a one-club player."
Not: "I'm really pleased to have re-signed for two more years."
Not: "We've just about agreed the contract extension, just dotting the i's."
Not: "I'm sure it will get done, we just want to get it right."
Not: "The attention has been flattering, but this is my home."
Not: "I'll have an announcement by the bye"
Not: "I want to get the contract sorted out as soon as I can."

Just: "I love it here."
He still had in reserve: "My dog loves it here."

So we can deduce:
No signed deal, not close to a signed deal, no confidence in re-signing, no imminent decision, no urgency in re-signing="put off talks to end of year".
Just: "I still want to be friends after I leave".

Just heard the audio. He is telling porkies.

The Run Home crew on SEN played it then asked "What do you reckon fellas, staying or going?"

Moons: "errrrrr...........I hope he'll stay", said with no confidence at all.

Ox: "Going!"

Marko: "Yep, gone!"
