Rumour Josh Kelly to the Bulldogs

What did it say?!
I copied it in case they pulled the article:

Josh Kelly has sensationally requested a trade from GWS just 12 months after recommitting to the club on a two-year deal. It comes as a massive blow to Greater Western Sydney as they brace for an off-season of change.

The Giants’ exit from the finals race on Saturday night has accelerated the movement of players out of the AFL’s newest club, with veteran Ryan Griffen announcing his retirement immediately after the semi-final loss to Collingwood.

Star midfielder Kelly is one of a host of Giants contracted for 2019 who appear no certainty to be at GWS next year. Youngster Will Setterfield, big man Rory Lobb, and the hard-running Tom Scully have also been linked with moves from the club.

Kelly is due to come out of contract at the end of next season. However a host of Victorian clubs including North Melbourne, Western Bulldogs, Hawthorn, Essendon, Carlton and St Kilda have been targeting Kelly with an eye to him returning to his home state via a trade this year as the Giants deal with a salary cap squeeze.

It’s understood Kelly has requested a trade to the Western Bulldogs and play with close friend and premiership superstar Marcus Bontempelli. However this has yet to be confirmed by his management.

West Australian Lobb is also out-of-contract at the end of next year and is believed to have been in the sights of Fremantle. Setterfield, who has endured a wretched run with injury, has been linked with the Bombers and Blues.

The Giants could stand their ground on any of these players given all are contracted, but it's understood they are resigned to losing someone given their cap situation.

This is cruel but very well done.

Should have rickrolled with the link. Would have raised it to a 10/10 in my book.

There was also a peice removed at the behest of Kelly’s management related to his friendship with the Bont. Luckily I was swift enough to capture it:

“It’s understood Kelly has requested a trade to the Western Bulldogs and play with close friend and premiership superstar Marcus Bontempelli who, unlike Kelly, is instantly recognised on his travels throughout Italy. This is understood to infuriate Kelly, and is thought to be a main driver in his desire to play for the premiership club”

Kudus. You've captured the inherent algorithmesque blandness of todays football journalism so beautifully that its entirely plausible that this is how the real article will read when its published in the coming days. Whoops, Ive said too much...

Funny you say that. The article was a direct copy, find and replace and slight edit of Sam Mclures Age article on Dylan Shiel

Sam Maclure. The very personification of an AFL media algorithm.

Im pretty sure that he's just a Hitler youth haircut topping some meat by-products assembled in roughly human form.

Carlton supporter, so yeah. :thumbsu:

So, where's the Bont/Kelly friendship at? Is it true that Bont and JK have matching Bulldogs and have named them after each other? Will we therefore nab JK in a couple of years, or will the new Tassie franchise trump us all and nab them both, a-la AFLW "ripping the guts out of clubs" sh1tfest? And even if we did, where the hell would Bev actually play him? So many questions, no answers, should stop drinking on the job again...
