If every game was played at finals intensity he'd be the best player in the comp. The tight contested ball and the pressure environment is his natural element.

This is a really good thread idea, and given he was acknowledged as the Swans best finals performer in 2010 (when they were in good form and playing well), it demonstrates that JPK has been doing this since he arrived at the Swans. I think he is putting himself in the lofty tiers of finals performers. A Norm Smith would be wonderful in such a context. All we need is a few more Freo-Sydney finals encounters to cement it, as those clashes invariably bring out his most formidable work.

44 disposals tonight and utterly dominant. Got rocked by an elbow last week and recovered to be swans best player. Stood up in '14 gf when they got flogged. Excellent in '12 when they won. Abused the freo midfield last year to no avail.

17 finals and averages over 30 disposals a match. And he doesn't just accumulate at this time of year, he brutalises you.

For mine Kennedy is clearly one of the best finals midfielders of the modern era. Better than some much more heralded legends like voss, Judd, Buckley, Bartel, hodge, black, Vag, McLeod and Hayes.

I don't reckon he has played a bad one. Am I over the top here or does he get glossed over a bit?
This Vag sounds like a fine campaigner.

Can't think of anyone more deserving of the title "Norm Smith Medalist" than Kennedy.

Really surprises me hasn't won a brownlow, or at least should poll stronger than what he does.
He has polled 46 votes in the last two seasons so the umpire recognition has started to come. He looked an excellent Brownlow chance this year but Parker and Hannebery "stole" a lot of votes. That being said, would not surprise me at all to see him right up there on the night.

Thats the problem with having a midfield that bats so deep, they take votes off one another, who was taking votes of fyfe? Who was taking votes of Dangerfield? Gws will suffer the same problem as the swans in regards to this stuff too, don't expect to see a brownlow coming to Sydney any time soon, two of the best midfields in the game

I think Kennedy and Hanneberry can win the Brownlow medal. You hear all the talk about Dangerfield .... why not so much about the elite Sydney midfielders, this team is impossible to beat when they are up to the task.

Never really showed much at Hawthorn. Can't win them all. I still remember him completely fluffing a certain goal against Richmond (IIRC) by trying to handball to Franklin and missing.

he apparently is in and out the gym in 15 or so minutes. absolute rig and incredibly genetically gifted
durable as they come and barely misses a game with three men all dangling off him all game
i remember hearing that at one stage the club had banned him from the gym, just looks at weights and puts on muscle
