irrespective pick 3 (griffen), pick 14 wallis (he was actually rated higher due to F/S) + pick 5 and 6 is way overs for Kennedy which was the original post, I'd be loath to part both picks 5 and 6 for him should the case arise.
That has more to do with your club position than Kennedy's worth though. You're rebuilding which means it makes sense to hold onto two top six picks. Doesn't mean though that Kennedy would demand two top ten picks and a highish second round pick. It may mean though that given his price, he'll wont move.

The Kennedy trade is weird. I know Richmond have made some pretty dumb calls, but Kennedy and McGlynn for picks 39, 46 and 70? Even at the time I thought it was generous.
At the time McGlynn was the more valuable of the two. Kennedy hadn't shown a heck of a lot up to that point (admittedly was still young), and wasn't going to be seriously pushing for selection based on who was ahead of him in Hawthorn's midfield. Hawthorn did him a favour, if anything. No guarantees that Kennedy gets to close to where he is now as a player if he stays at Glenferrie. Stratton & Suckling (46 & 70) have worked out ok. :)

Any update on Kennedy?

I assume as the hasnt been mentioned with any trade he will re-sign?

Maybe he thinks he is a better player than Kurt and wants a million dollars a year :)

This thread makes me sad :(
You shouldn't be as we used one of those picks to get Stratton.

When we traded Kennedy at the time he was struggling to get a game with the likes of Mitchell, Sewell, Lewis, Hodge all in the middle. Hadn't shown much and wanted opportunity to play. One of the other things we should note is we were probably in talks with Shaun Burgoyne as well.

Sydney to their credit identified a player and made him an offer of more years and money. Kennedy made the decision and the Hawks didn't stand in his way. At the time i felt Kennedy was a loss, not so much McGlynn as was always, and still am, a bit suspect on his kicking efficiency, something the Hawks obviously put alot of priority in.

One of the side benefits here is it helped change the perception of the Hawks being a club difficult to trade with. Players know we will deal with them honestly and respectfully and willing to help them get trades done and to clubs of their choice. In return we know are seeing other players wanting to join the Hawks and deals getting done and the best thing is players are coming for reduced amounts of money. At the time Kennedy's pay packet Sydney was offering was overs but as they say, hindsight is 20/20, and have gotten a bargain, some you win some you lose.

Kennedy will stay with Sydney no matter how much Hawthorn may want him back at the club.

We already gave you the flag it's only fair you give us Kennedy back :p

In all seriousness he won't leave for a long time and probably not ever. I would be glad if we can get him back and squeeze 100 games out of him. The Kennedy bloodline is a gold mine for players.

Seriously though what has happened in Sydney?
They are the ultimate model in recruiting, list management, culture etc.
They win the flag and they have gone all weird.. Why is Kennedy unsigned? And more curiously what in the hell are they thinking if the Tippet offer is accurate?
Perhaps Kennedy is holding off to see what happens there as he bloody well should!
Very very UnSydney like this. I'd forget Tippet.

There is nothing wrong at all. A lot of speculating by people who have nothing to do with the club. Perfect example people saying the swans offered Grundy as part of the deal for tippet and it was mentioned so many times that it jumped from being a rumour to it being confirmed..and then this morning the swans send out a presser saying grundys been signed and is a swan for life...debunking most of the shit people have been speculating on BF.

Back to JPK..he signed a 3 year contract a few years ago..hence why there is no news on this..because there isn't any. Next year his contract is up for renewing.

I don't even think he's uncontracted. The fact that absolutely no one in the media has brought it up probably means he signed an extension either last year or early this year.

A lot of the crapola being thrown around seems to be from either angry crow fans (tippett the way he walked out) or from bitter Hawk fans who are trying to discredit this years flag just like how geelong fans have been trying to discredit the hawks 2008 flag. There are a few hawk fans on BF and i am sure away from the internet who have convinced themsleves that they have been cheated out of their god given right to this years flag because of sydneys CoL allowance. It was the perfect excuse they were looking for.

tazhawk i am lookig at you.
