Lachie Weller was not eligible at GC due to the fact that he hadn't lived on the GC for long enough despite spending 4+ years in the Suns academy. So it isn't exactly "unfair" if you don't get access to talent that you've only put 12 months into.

Again, was that GC trying to pull a swift one over everyone?
I just don't see the point of clubs (rather than the AFL) putting effort in for next-to-zero reward. That's not the equivalent of NEAFL clubs ****ing up paperwork on the odd recruit.
Appears Brander & Spargo back in the main draft to go to whoever selects them. I.e. No longer counted as GWS academy players.

Yup, Wentworth, Deniliquin, Albury, Finley and Moama are all gone from GWS. So basically all of Southern NSW.

Yeah would not be too bad an outcome after all how many quality Talls can the lions stock up on anyway ?eventually it will be impossible to retain them all.
But geeez I love the look of Fogarty he'll be an absolute ripper, he's a real gem and we've really need more grunt and bash onballers.
Very difficult call, with Ben Silvagni available next we just go for the incredible Cripps & Fogarty midfield combination, wouldn't that be scary for any opposition.
CFC may well go for Brander now his availability has been officially confirmed.
But as much as we need a class tall , I'm still in the Darcy Fogarty camp, just to good to pass up.

he got a mention maybe on my board mid-2016 by me after he kicked those 3 goals in his 2nd game of TAC Cup footy, so trust me i love him, arguably my favourite player in this year's pool and my one to watch to shoot up the draft boards

i'd say best available, dependent on we/Richmond finish, Callum Coleman-Jones is a very legitimate option, as is Jaidyn Stephenson. And more midfielders or a small defender would suffice as well, but if Patrick Naish has a good enough season, he could be one of those two first rounders, but from a Richmond point of view hopefully not!

this i did know, won it over Penrith and Coffield by something like a tenth of a second, and couple that with a great vertical as well, hes a proper prospect. There's a reason why he played in the U17s All-Star game off the back of only 3 TAC Cup games!

I wont comment on who to look at for GWS because they haven't updated their squad for the game post the ruling by the AFL. But for Sydney, going off their squad in the trial game v North Shore Prems, i'd say Luke Srkvanic, James Bell and Jack Hardman are ones to watch from this year, and obviously Nick Blakey for 2018. Also keep a close eye on Angus Rankin too

He trained with the club this preseason and from all reports he was quite impressive with his skills and pace. any input would be greatly appreciated.
