I think based on that injury he will be done for the year, he could perhaps come back in as a sub for a final but his fitness will suffer not being on his feet for a month or so.

I honestly don't think its worth risking him unless its a PF or GF and we have an absolute desperate need, it will take a while to rebuild confidence in that knee with jumping and landing etc.

I think this will be one of those 50/50 of comebacks (for this season).
If it was obviously a significant injury or a major operation, they would have certainly ruled him out for the season. So the fact that he’s not written off, tells me he’s still some chance to do a comeback around the Finals mark.

In the least, it would likely be a 6-8 weeks off. The only unknown is the post-op complications, or whether there is delay healing from surgery.

Campo on 5aa reckons about 8 weeks recovery
Hard to say without seeing any scans etc but generally with a posterior capsule injury requiring surgery would indicate the tear is quite significant so recovery time would be on the longer side. So 8 to 10 weeks maybe, but that's without doing any running in that time, so wouldn't be match ready.

Did anyone else copy & paste Posterior Capsular tear from the web page into google and get cataract surgery info?
Landed on his knee so hard it popped his eyeball out.

We're not winning the premiership this year so just happy he hasn't done an acl.
Yeah pretty much my thinking. A lot of things would have to go right from now on for a flag to happen and that includes some fundamental coaching stuff.

The best thing to happen from here is that we try and find the right mix without him that doesn't include Murphy.

Or plug in and play Draper so he’s has some much needed experience going into next year.

We all know Nicks won’t do that. He’ll prob play Jones instead, only to remind us he’s not up to the level.

Midfielder Matt Crouch could return next week as he re-joins main training with the squad.

“Matt is running really well,” Burgess said.

“He’ll be involved in main training tomorrow and assuming he gets through that well, he’ll be available for next week.”
