He is going to play with the brace on, and then as he sprints towards his fourth goal in the first quarter, the brace will shatter into a thousand symbolic pieces.

The idea that Rachele isn't straight back in if fit is laughable.

He was top 10 in the B & F when injured even accounting for his missed weeks from the rib injury.
Agree he definitely comes straight back assuming he doesn't need match fitness. Hopefully he can fit in a game in the sanfl finals and return for a prelim, even if it's sub.

I wonder how precautionary the knee brace is?

Players wear moonboots even right up to the week they return

Hopefully we see him doing some running soon, with or without the brace
I’d say it’s a 6-8 week thing

Would not surprise me if off in 6 weeks ( next week )

Then likely 3 weeks needed before he plays again

If it comes off in 8 weeks he will prob be ready for prelim / granny weekend only if at all

In any case I doubt he plays first final

Rachele also just strikes me as the kind of player who would elevate for a big final. He yearns for the big stage, and he wouldn't be intimidated by a hostile MCG crowd.
Absolutely, finals time you want all the Rachele types playing you can find.

Josh is the kinda kid who would LOVE to have the ball in his hands to kick a winning goal after the siren.

Those players dont grow on trees.

Latest update from Burgess says he can’t give a time line yet but expects Rach to play again this season.
I know his mate, who said Josh is eyeing the first final as his return.
Best case is the first SANFL Final with a limited run and but more likely back in the AFL Team come Qualifying
