The reporter will have to consider his question very carefully before asking it, especially if we lose :D

I'm still unconvinced that this isn't anything more than a lot of bullshit made about nothing. Someone decides to fan a flame and the hoopleheads become hysterical.
 
The sad part about all of this focus is that for every indigenous player who finds it hard to adjust to the rigour of an AFL career there would be many more non indigenous players who struggle. Getting on the list is only the start and is not for everyone. There are many players over the history of the game who get on a list but never live up to their potential or have issues which hold them back, but much is kept in house because most of their issues are personal and they don't have a high profile.

Josh is no different to any other very young father who is struggling to adapt to the discipline required and adjust his lifestyle to suit his career.

I hope he can get back on track and survive the self fulfilling media glare that has come onto him as he has the talent to go a long way.

Prior said look we're in Sydney and Josh's in Perth,we'll sit down face to face and work through it all.I'd be guessing that'll be the party line 'til the heat goes out of the situation.
Mind you R is TB so he may not bother with the precise party line.
The reason all the top coaches across all codes get paid the loot is because of man-management skills.Without rapport and reciprocated respect they can't do what they do.

Another rumour going the rounds on social media regarding Josh Simpson is that he and Roger Hayden were seen nightclubbing Thursday evening.
There is no suggestion of excessive alcohol consumption or antisocial behaviour but posters are suggesting The Flash and The Genius mounted the dancefloor.
The club's lawyers are in consultation with both the Barnett government and an international team of sub-atomic quantum physicists headed up by Steven Hawkins as it appears the West Australian Space-Time Continuum may have been shredded as a consequence of their moves.
It is understood Professor Hawkins has confirmed his team are able to reconstruct the matrix stitch by stitch and Hawkins himself has called for calm and understanding saying "By Crikey those boys can move.":D:D:rainbow::rainbow:

based on past history I reckon he'll say something general and cursory, and say that it's being worked through, but that he's there to talk about the game and the players that actually played in it.

If the reporters keep on at him he'll just reiterate, and brush them off if necessary.

don't reckon he'll tear strips though. will be more of last week's "smug douche" approach rather than a Brilliant Shane special.

In all seriousness I did actually see roger Hayden ripping up the dance floor at Benny's in the off season, he is a smooth mover.

I am in Phuket at the moment, mate has just messaged me saying that Josh is quitting the club on Tuesday. Have there been any reliable reports or was my mate reading "the west's" wish list for a story?

I was swooning a little but I think that was because Ross was at the bar having shooters with friends and when he was accosted by an adoring fan he held his second drink in his mouth while shaking their hand. The boss takes his down time seriously and gives great effort.

This is probably closest to the truth.

It's the holidays, and a lot of country relations will use the opportunity to catch up, so he'll probably have some staying with him. His kids are tiny so like any father he will want to be around them, just to be on the safe side. His wife would be of the same mind.

It's not to suggest that the relations are in any way bad or irresponsible, it's just the normal hi-jinx, lair-ising and general rambunctiousness that comes with having young adults in a house.

Mark Duffield who is usually reasonably balanced seemed to back this up as the story
Also fits with the fact that he was training well on Thursday, probably thought he was going to be in the team, then Mayne passes a touch and go fitness test and he is told the bad news.
Basically, he's thrown a whammy. Nothing even remote to career threatening, unless he doesn't learn from it and grow up.

That would have been an excellent reply and would have killed the whole issue dead on the spot - however, I think the club's PR was caught flat-footed on this occasion and as a result Bondy went into his interview under-prepared.

This whole thing is a good example of PR damage management gone wrong - where comments that were intended to defuse the situation end up inflaming speculation, distortion and increased scrutiny.

I'm not surprised that this has happened on a long weekend either - I've worked on more than a few politically-sensitive communications campaigns in my time and I know from bitter experience that public holidays are dangerous - everyone in the PR / MarCom department goes on holiday, folks relax, people take their eye off the ball, things screw up and everyone is harder to reach in case in an emergency.

If I was the head of PR at the FFC, I would be giving my department a swift kick up the bum for letting Bondy go in into an interview without the company-line being firmly established beforehand - and I would be making sure that RTB has all the ammo he needs in his up-coming post-game presser later on today; not that Ross really needs the help... he is one of the best team/corporate leaders I have ever seen when it comes to deflecting/avoiding loaded questions in a press conference... (NB: Remember - when it comes to the media, every single question you will ever be asked is a loaded gun that may be pointed back at you in the future!)

To be fair on Jack_the_Ninja his intentions were honourable, ignorance was his problem.

It's a harsh world for people of minority, too much prejudice is lightly flung around, and in general assumptions are made abut people just based on the way they look or their social backgrounds.

Exactly ,
Bondy should understand how small Perth is when it comes to news and happenings ,he has lived here long enough to realize how quick the media and SOCIAL Media in particular gets hold of a story .

I think Bondy somehow thought he could hide the truth and no one would find out , "VERY DUMB IDEA " .
The problem now is Bonds credibility with the media . He may have just lost his job if he acted alone .

So the fallout could go very deep and not just Josh with a please explain note in his hand when RTB gets back into town with the 2 Steve's .
The problems at Fremantle are coming to the surface just in the last 6 months IMHO .

The Club when it was just hanging in there and lower on the table with so,so membership numbers and little publicity really didn't have to do that much .
The finals series and the growth in membership numbers has put a strain on all the personal involved at the Club and the strain is showing .
Bondy and the rest of the media group better get wise very quickly or they will be over run by hard hitting Jurno's that smell blood in the water and go for it .

I would hate to find out that the Flash has or is left to hang out to dry by our inept media department .
I don't think it would happen on purpose but these things have been known to happen .

Josh will need some serious back up because the jurno's would be gathering as we type .
I'll make a bet right now some young jurno is on his way to Yalgoo to interview family members and friends of Josh for the news department special report .
then there will be the cross to the reporter at Simpsons front door trying to get him to make a statement.
