Yeah but few midfielders break into the AFL as mids, most of those who do do so in weak teams or arrive as mature agers. Most mids have to cut their teeth in other positions.

I agree, just ATM Aish isn't cutting it as a forward. Should either play a different position or go back to the VFL. I had the same thoughts on Adams a couple of years ago when he was playing as a winger and half back.

Has been playing between half back and half forward and kicked a goal in both games. If he played exclusively as a half forward instead of Blair or De Goey, he would be doing much better. Like Adams he is going to be a very good player for Collingwood, just needs a little time and patience from the club and from the fans, before he becomes a regular player.

Beams and Sidebottom started as HFF's that spent time in the Midfield when they Began

Adams is a great Example why it can take a Kid a bit of Time to Fit in at a New Club

Actually what it shows is that the VFL "bests" on the Collingwood website are the biggest load of tripe you'll ever read, been that way for years. Anyone who has ever been to a VFL game can tell you that.

They're pretty much coach participation awards used to give certain players confidence boosts, rather than educate the members.
