One reason Beams went so low was the fact he'd played in the Qld competition and recruiters found it difficult to judge his worth in comparison to e.g. kids who played in the TAC comp, so most went for the safer option of not drafting him high. Beams opted to go into the draft rather than go on the GC list. Plus he was part of a pretty impresive draft with a strong group of players in the 11-30 picks.
I may not be 100% correct with all the details, but this is pretty much as I remember the situation at the time.

Tonkapies I didn't wait three days and then have a crack at you; all the posts after your post #26, which I replied to half-an-hour later (not three days) were referencing the theme of your post. Where I quoted you later on was to highlight to jackcass that it was your statement I felt overly diminished the advantage of draft position, not his.
As for your comments just recently, they're not worth the time of anyone here. Post something considered and meaningful and I might address it.
