Ooowee! On fire in this thread.

THATSGOLD. Consistently wrong for years on end. It's honestly incredible how he does it.
Consistently wrong my arse. I made a call he was shot after not playing a game for four years due to injury. He's put a year together probably in clusters and looked ok but hardly set the AFL on fire. Im happy he has come into the 22 and probably played his best game against the Swans away so let's see if he consistently play well each week like a Swan Pendlebury Beams Ball or Sidebottom. Still a way to go.

Dude you said it was his last year on the list etc multiple times. You really stressed the point. You were good old fashioned wrong. Just cop it like a man.

He's stood up for one year and now he's made it? Revisit in 5-6 years and see what kind of footballer he became. Touch wood he keeps his spot and gets us to GFs and plays decent finals football which he has yet to do.

Wrong.. it obviously wasn't his last year on the list.. stop rewriting what you said and man up o_O

He's 22 and played 19 games maybe 5 good ones. Hope he keeps it up for 200 games. I'll revisit the thread then when he's won 5 brownlows and 7 flags.

7 flags would just about kill me, although I would die a happy man.

Good old knee jerk gets under some people's skin B_W - I wonder why?
Dunno mate.
Always fascinated by those who are holier than thou on the internet.
They seem to forget that's its a place for differing opinions. And how boring a world it would be if we all thought the same.
But those who wish to continually crow about how right they are and how wrong others are, well surely that's a serious problem.
I love to be right, I love to be wrong. But hell, I'll never admit I'm wrong. Part of the joy of the internet.

Why & that gives you joy does it?

I would never consider asking for knee jerk to be banned he's the finest entertainment above ground in my opinion. As for holier than thou's there are lots of those around too, most people on their hobby horse like to take the high moral ground - or imagine they are - but there's very few I take issue with.

Speaking as a silly old fart nearing 60 I have to say that in my personal experience only people are people and no amount of moralizing or preaching about any idiom or ethos will make one iota of difference in their opinion, even if they publicly demur from opposition, in their hearts they refute.

My credo is "To thine own self be true". So I stand my ground and state my opinion firmly ONCE, if others disagree that's great too as part of life's rich tapestry.

But if others harp and pester, then they are gone from my scene permanently because life is far too short to put up with the soul pollution they spread.

And that is as deep as I get online lol.

I see it all the time HQ, not that we don't have a long way to go yet.

Dayne Beams tweeted this on 23 August last year: "I told everyone ages ago josh Thomas had me covered #dominating #claiminghim"
Josh Thomas was a better "junior" player than Beamsy.
I am not saying he is now a better player.
He must have some ability if he was a better junior & hopefully he will get better with more games under his belt.
When you barrack for a club, you should wish the best for all the players on that list & support them !

Didn't Beams get belted by Blair when they went head to head as juniors? Hard to imagine that happening now. :p

Still, Thomas is a real surprise packet, I didn't think he'd come good on the injury front. I'm real interested to see what he can do with more game time, he's a real accumulator, has some toe and he's become pretty decent at kicking goals too.

Only worry is his height. By himself, I don't see an issue but with Freeman and Adams, the next gen midfield grunt isn't looking that tall (though there is still Beams and they are all built like the proverbial). I suppose that's where Karnesis (if he makes it), Scharenberg and Seedsman (if he bulks up) come in.

But again, interested to see where Thomas ends up. He is best 22 by my reckoning and will only improve on his already impressive 2013.

He has a Judd/Swan like explosiveness from congestion, if he can utilise this more during games he will become a gun.
Already a solid player and with games will only get better, a few blocks from team mates would quickly release him inot space and streaming toward goal like a young Judd got from Stenglien, Chick and Kerr.

I agree loki, his speed is amazing for someone who has been busted up so many times. Add that to his inside game and we might have a little jet on our hands
