That video shows there was a bit going on at Showdown. Watching on TV, the Port forward line were constantly holding on, shepherding, flopping for frees etc - all the little things that an umpire could squash if they were paying attention. I think that's the reason Wozza gave him one after the tackle and it may also be the reason why there was a bit of flopping from us as well - sometimes you have to make the maggots pay attention.
You NEVER miss the chance to give them something

Smoky for the next Captain after Dawson? He’s a heart and soul type player who leaves everything out there, type of teammate you love walking out next to.
Great call!

He's first in when there's a scuffle

Copped a nasty knee in the ribs going back with the flight in Q1. Then did exactly the same thing next quarter. Body on the line. Fearless.

Best part about both Keane and Woz flying the flag was that they didnt actually see the incident.

Its one thing to see a teammate get crushed and rush in.

Its another to see a teammate on the ground and immediately go and tear strips into his direct opponent.

Was my greatest source of frustration for the longest time. The Crows were an easy side to push around as we never fought back. I liked seeing it on the weekend.

Actually, Keane could well have been in trouble. After he was thrown down on the ground, he kicked his legs out towards Lynch quite vigorously.

Absolutely. We now have a good array of enforcers. Woz and Keane (regardless of how clumsy he looks doing it) down back, Dawson in the middle, Fog and TT up front. All are pretty happy to get into it.

Well, when Lynch gets off with a stern talking to, and Keane gets a fine, we will have a legitimate complaint.

Which we wont do, probably.

It's cringe. When has pushing someone ever intimidated anyone. Players can't be intimidated anymore cos you can't actually hurt anyone anymore.

Lynch ragdolled both of them anyway.

Its not about that, forever and a day we let the oppo's tagger have his way with our best mid and we never went out of our way to protect danger, sloane etc

The alternative was to just leave Lynch standing over Butts on the ground? What more did you expect then to do?

How do you protect against a tagger today? I'd argue you can't through intimidation these days and it's more about tactics (positioning, blocks etc).
You can still let them know they are in for a tough day, collingwood do it for Daicos.

That wasn't my point. You have to pretend to be intimidating of course, but it's still cringe in this day and age
I doubt any of these guys get intimidated. It's more about ego than anything and it's always preferable to have players that are confident bordering on arrogant than meek and submissive. You can't just let someone teabag you on the field. You have to make sure if they try some shit, it's not fun for them. If you don't respond, it just gives them license to do it more.
