Following the recent Aker thread I noticed on the main board another thread this time about Chris Judd and a possible return home at the end of this season.

Anyone interested in getting the services of this player and do you think he would be a better recruit than Akermanis?

I know it's hypothetical but it is pre-season and there's not much else totalk about atm

I haven't had the pleasure of watching this guy play (being here in England and all etc etc.) but I've read and heard all the raps on this guy. He would be a fantastic addition, contributing height up forward and a bit of mongrel as well - I'd take him in a heartbeat. There is also the fact that he is young and he's got a fair amount of time ahead of him.

I know Aker is a star and all, but I just don't like his attitude. I'm not saying if he came to the Bulldogs I'd be upset or anything, but if I had to choose b/w the 2, I would choose Judd.

no I would want more than just Judd for Brown.

I'd love to get Judd but to date he has one very good season in his debut year where as Brown is proven over many years and is now entering the peak of his powers. Brown is proven to be a very veratile and durable player and can be used in so many ways and be a match winner in all of them. Judd has some junior injury history.

In summary Brown is a proven champ and Judd is a potential champ. There is more risk with Judd so I would demand more or all bets are off.

See, now my immediate reaction was to refuse the trade too.

Ignoring the fact that as a club we have history with Brown, he'd be coming into the group of players in the second half of their careers. Juddy could last another decade+. We want youth. Juddy is a goosebump player, makes the game look like the easiest thing on earth. His shoulders are fine, they're not like knees, in that they're stronger than pre-recon, perhaps with slightly reduced movement. If he's too much of a risk, you're a hard man to please. :)

Which of your kids would be on offer though?

(Of course hopefully he'll stay)

Brown should be an untouchable, he could easily become the best player in the comp over the next few years. Judd could also in the future be one of the best players in the comp, but you just don't trade a guy as good as Browny.

No one said we were trading him. It was a hypothetical question.

Besides I think he and the Club would have the most say on whether or not he gets traded.
