If you look strictly at the role Priddis plays, he's a 100% inside midfielder, and yes, I'd say he's the best at that single specific role that the club has ever had. *You* might discount the stats, but there's a reason he's been up the top in those stats for years - he is bloody good at what he does. And in that specific role, yes, Priddis is a better player than Judd or Cousins - and yes, probably better at that than Kerr was (who was definitely the best of that three in the packs).

You bring up the B&F and bemoan Priddis winning that. Darren Glass won that three times (07,09,11). He also wouldn't have been able to play the role Cousins, Judd or Kerr played. But he was very good at the role that he specifically played (tall defender). The best player doesn't have to be the best in every single role on the ground, just the roles that they are tasked to play. And the fact that Priddis won last year's B&F, will probably win this years, and was runner up in 2010 and 2011 (a year we finished 4th) says that there are a lot of people who rate him around the club. It seems you're a bit dark about that.

Incidentally, there was only one season where Priddis and Kerr played a comparable number of games, 22 each - 2012 - and I think most of us would have rated Kerr's season pretty highly that year. Kerr finished 9th in the B&F. Priddis? Eighth.

I think Kerr was a better player than Priddis. I have no doubt that Priddis would think so (and probably Kerr for that matter). But you seem here to be invoking that comparison solely for the purpose of putting down a player who's performances for the club have been great. And that's according to the club themselves.

Really, the best inside midfielder the WCE have ever had. Kemp? Cousins? Judd? Kerr? What a daft post. They were all far superior and expected to do a lot more than Priddis.

More banal than stupid. I guess you've narrowly avoided three strikes. Well done.

Maybe it's a sign of the times that people want to celebrate Priddis 'winning a medal' rather than the sustained excellence that should, in theory, precede it. Maybe it's because we all know that he wasn't the best player in the league this season and that our midfield is still acutely lacking in top-drawer quality. This award, which reinforces its own arbitrary pointlessness, doesn't change that.

But ignore all those uncomfortable details - Priddis got a shiny medal!

Over-hyped. Couldn't cut it once Judd and Cousins left and he copped some attention himself. Never carried an entire team on his own like Cousins did through the "Bad times", Judd did at Carlton and Priddis has done with stuff all decent midfielders around to help.
An A class undersized midfielder made to look good by a good team.

Five thumbs down......didnt you catch the 2011/2012 finals?

and 1 or 2 pretty handy games prior to that...
