Cousins was a master of blowing games away in critical periods. Won so many game for us its a joke.

West Coast supporter:
1.Cousins
2.Daylight
3.Judd
4.Kerr

West Coast supporter:
Cousins all the way! :thumbsu:

West Coast supporter (though being cheeky):
cousins>>>Kerr>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Judd:p

Cousins. He could convince team mates that we could win even if 70 points down, always led by example and gave his heart and soul to the footy club.

Judd will always be the better player, but he didnt have that 'X-factor' Cousins had.

On Kerr, has a long, long way before he can catch upto to the both of them.

It's funny how the subconcious mind works. Most West Coast supporter would be genuinely reassuring themselves that they believe Cousins to be better than Judd. This is simply because Judd abandoned ship.

We all know Cousins was a magnificent player, who ran till he spewed, won games of his own boot long before Judd and Kerr arrived, and lifted team mates etc...

However, we also know that for 3-4 years, Judd was a freak without equal, and was being labelled as potentially one of the greatest of all time. Won a brownlow at 21, would have won a second at 24 if he hadn't been crippled with injury mid season, and will probably win another one or two if he regains full pace and fitness and returns to peak form. Moreover, at his best he was a more rounded player than Cousins, being almost as good an outside player, and significantly better inside.

1. Judd
2. Cousins
3. Kerr

And if Carlton never got Judd, and Kerr was linked as he is now, those same Carlton supporters maybe be rating Kerr a lot higher.
Judd was a freak, but if you wanted grit and inspiration I'd turn to Cousins everytime.

They may well be but I'd still value their input far more than all the Carlton supporters trying to reassure themselves that Judd's best was "potentially one of the greatest of all time" and that with a full pre-season he'll get back to his best.

Of course, it works both ways.

In any case, I wasn't aware that this poll was actually mean to compare grit and inspiration... it struck me as referring to simple player x Vs player y...

:confused: Bizarre comment. Judd has probably as much X-factor as about any player to ever play the game. The bloke can turn the game on it's head in 10 minutes.

Did you even read what I said? He could inspire his team mates and instill the belief that at 70 points down the game can be won, Geelong and Carlton 06 are clear examples.

Claude_Balls - I said Judd will always be the better player, but as a player + leader, he can't beat Cousins.

Judd will always be the best midfielder out of the three.

Re: his early naughties form, he was the best one man team in 2001, just dominated by himself.

Just about as un-taggable as you'll see and won us many, many close games, inspirational player, durable too.

It is a toss up between Cousins and Judd, but Kerr isn't even close. Most overrated player in AFL history.
Kerr isn't the most overrated player in history. That's a stupid thing to say, his last 3 years have been phenomanal and he is one of if not the best at extracting a ball from nowhere. Absolute gun when on fire.

I'll go with Judd. At his best he's one of the best players I've seen. Cuzz is a freak as well, but Judd in full flight is magnificent.

Judd and Cousins are my two favourite non-Essendon players.

judd>cousins>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>kerr
In terms of ability, you can't go past this. However, Cousins' career has been better as he was a superstar for 12 years (including around 6-7 top 10 brownlow finishes). If Judd maintains his level for another 6 years, he will pass Cuzz... but only just.

I guess you can only judge this at the end of their careers... ATM people are saying Cousins because of his leadership and gut running, but i ask you the question, to which only Carlton supporters will only be able to answer, is how many games lees would we have won this year without Judd. It amazes me how people don't think that Judd hasn't got as good leadership skills as cousins, but without Judd this year i believe we would have won at least 3 games less.

Beside the point how lucky were West Coast to have all 3 of them in their side...

Mine Judd
Cousins
Kerr, but i do respect what the W.C fans have said

Judds leadership is nowhere near bennys.

Carlton have won more games this year because of a mix of belief, development and increased skill with the likes of judd. Cousins towards the end of his career was one of the best captains in the league imo. Not quite a voss but better then the majority.

One could argue that Judd's leadership has brought belief, a higher expectation and standard. Judd's leadership single handedly won us games against Port Adeliade, Collingwood X 2 & to less extent W. Bulldogs (as there was a more even spread of contributers)

Juddy lacks leadership, and is not captain material in my mind, but his best football is better than cousins and kerrs . . .
