Belief was that McVee got a shithouse offer first up from Demons, agent went to Fremantle/Eagles as a result. Both offered much more. After that it was too late. Demons overplayed their hand and got burnt

My club has done that to other players. I really don’t understand why clubs plays hard ball and make insulting offers.

Pick 11 (Which becomes pick 16/17/18) in one of the weakest drafts ever is probably not as big a price as it seems.

McVee is quite a good ready-made defender.

Maybe pick 11 for McVee and pick 23 is about right.

Nah everything else taken into account - we gave them Langdon at his peak for 2nd and we got a contracted Clark (far superior player) also for second … and of course remember everyone’s favourite-Bailey smith went for 17 .

That said wallsy has shown tie and again he prefers to be the good bloke when trading payers in so I can see the deal being something similar to this , so If it is I’d least hope we get another useful upgrade somewhere in the deal

Melbourne posters say pick 11 to be 15-17 in a shit draft for McVee

Freo posters say pick 29, OOC and similar deal to Langdon.

Ends up being somewhere in the middle maybe Freo 1st with Melb 2nd or F2 coming back. Or Freo 2nd + Futures but I feel that's less likely with our NGAs

Either way over under on how many pages and danstar posts this generates is high.

We won’t get value. McVee had a serious hammy a month out from the season and never looked right. Reckon he’s a chance to proper break out next year if he has a full pre season.
We’ll end up somewhere around a second rounder value even if it includes a first from Freo.

Don't you remember freo fans saying that Jackson was 'potential only', 'just a 2nd ruck'. They lost all credibility. Within 6 months, he was number 1 ruck, free's best player and in the AA squad. So this is why I will set the value.

In the meantime, guys were saying how Griffin Logue was worth a late first rounder. Anyway, whether it's pick 11 or pick 29, I've lost interest. Melbourne is losing out big time either way. But I guarantee that by Round 5 next year, all of the posters minimising his value will be saying how much of a jet he is. And it'll be my 3rd win. (Jackson, Pickett, McVee)

I reckon it'll be something like 11 and 29 for McVee and 23.

After compo bids / priority pick that WC will get for Starcevich, they all blow out to 13 and 34 for McVee and 29. Once you take into account bids too, probably something like 15 and 44 for McVee and 39.

McVee is a very good player, I reckon his value is an early 2nd rounder, the above is broadly that value
