As Judd McVee gas nominated us I thought we should have a separate thread for him.

We can discuss what he is worth and what to expect from the lad.

IMO he'll play a mix of hbf and wing.

I like his skills and think he'll be worth at least our 2nd pick this year with some later picks being swapped to sweeten the deal.

2. J.Clark and F4 from Geelong to Freo for Pick 22 and F3 (Carlton)

Honestly think the key difference with McVee is that we're starting with a later second round pick (likely to be around 35 by next week) and won't get it nearly as high as Pick 22 by the time we actually make the McVee trade.

Half this board will say we got screwed like they did for Clark but at the time I said we'd think we got Clark for unders in a few years. He's now one of the best HBFs in the AFL. Big call but we're getting a similar level player here.

Make no mistake if we come out of trade period with Judd McVee whilst still holding our natural first rounder, we've done very well.

Clark had played 30 games for Geelong. McVee almost 70 for Melbourne. Means he has had significantly more opportunity for development and stability in his role.

We are certainly looking at tweaking his role, but I'm not expecting as much growth as we saw with Clark.

I do think Clark will be the better of the two btw but I can see a world where we're talking about both of them as elite HBFs in a few years. That's sort of what I was getting at.

They're both good users but use it differently which will make a real difference to how we rebound if McVee is used correctlg IMO.

Had no idea about this guy until he requested a trade, but having watched his highlight real can see why we are pursuing him. Seems to be a smart player, perfect age and with a lot of games played.

I think our pro scout spends all his time watching the dees, or does Walls have a vendetta?
