Judd on Riewoldt?

Ratts may have just used a throw away line.

Waite smashed roo in their first encounter even though he struck back in the second game against Waite.

Waite - Roo
Sentanta - Gehrig
Jamieson - Kosi
Thornton - Milne????

Doesn't make sense, and sends the wrong signal. Our advantage is our midfield. Lets focus on our strengths rather than theirs. If we win the midfield battle, their forward line will be much easier to handle. Hampson could be a huge factor. The Saints rucks are good, but very very old, and not very mobile. Hampson has a big opportunity. :)

thats a silly statement king just played in 2 premierships last year and was one of the best players in the best team in the land the only reason he was traded was to keep blake on the list, ( for the future ) what has age have to do for this game.
you made the same mistakes last week you know the too old comments
6 months dont age an elite afl player to the stage where he is an invalid
king, gardner, kosi stkilda have the best rucks with huge depth in rix & blake. age is only a problem for some players not all read below
tuck, bradley, harvey, bartlett, lynch, richo, cetain players are capable of playing untill they are 36-37 :)

I think you may find that Ratts is getting into the swing of being a coach in more ways than one - has taken on the football (soccer) u.k. style of throwing out red herring and playing half the game in the media. He has put houlihan at FB and all kinds of red herrings - takes time to get used to the media personality of a coach - especially your own - blinkers are blinding.

we certainly showed you guys last week on who has a better list & we dont have to rely on 1 player to do it, whoever will be our captain this week newman or foley has at least played for richmond.

we dont hand out captaincy as an incentive package

good to see you are back on the boards parrot, 4 days was too looong without you ?

.....how to flood. lol. Floodmond deserved the win, but playing so many old players, and ultra-flooding doesn't really have much future. :)
there was no ultra flooding, every team has numbers back includeing yours WATCH THE GAME AGAIN you are the only one that mentioned the floods,
admit the fact richmond was way too good for carlton on the day.:)

Sorry, but putting your entire side in the Blues forwardline apart from Richo IS ultraflooding. lol. So glad we don't do that rubbish. Low ticka no future stuff. :)
did you go to the game, or did you watch it on tv carlton did flood as well
i do admit richmond did it first in the second quater to stop carltons run
3rd & 4th quaters there were at least 15 carlton players in defence a number of times.
just proves that wallace is a very good coach that he is able to employ various game plans and out coached ratten.

i suppose thats the advantage of having an experienced coach over a newbie :)

It would be an interesting strategy. Judd would be giving up a lot of height, but Riewoldt gets his kicks by leading hard and long into space. Judd would keep up with him on the lead, force his workrate a bit. Plus, Riewoldt would be forced to play him going the other way, which might force him to be a bit more defensive.

As long as we had someone zoning off to be the third man up closer to goal, it might work...

he'd be giving up all of 4 cms..
campbell brown gives up 3 times that every week

The Richmond captaincy is usually handed around like a pistol in Russian Roulette.

"Mau! Mau! Mau!"

Anyone in right mind would rather a player who urinated on a Police Station as Captain instead of Judd because he's lead them to a spoon.

A great call to keep a Johnson in your leadership group to show Richmond's stack of talented youngsters how they should act off the field. :thumbsu:

King only played 6 games in the Geelong seniors last season, having been edged out of Geelong's 22 by Blake. He was brought in for the GF because of his strength, as the Cats were worried that Blake wouldn't be able to match the bigger bodied Lade & Brogan. He had the least number of hitouts (10) of the 4 ruckmen who played in the GF.

Very few players are capable of, or will be allowed to play until they are 36-37, in the modern game. At the present moment there are 11 players on AFL lists who are aged 32 & over, a number of whom are most likely in their last season eg Burns, Wakelin, Harvey, maybe Everitt. King is no longer an elite player & his future at AFL level will be determined by how St Kilda fare this season. Should they miss the finals this season, I would suggest King will be delisted.

Way too good? The game was in the balance for 3 1/2 quarters. Richmond finished with 3 late goals to put the game away. That does not equal way too good. That equals a little bit better on the night.

I heard Carlton thought about taking him but decided against it as there were doubts on his fitness. Why else was he traded for pick 90?

Why?

King will be judged on his performance and what we've got to replace him with.

If we miss finals it will probably be Ross Lyon being delisted.

Salary cap pressure.

Carlton wouldn't have taken him because of his age. Same with Gardiner.

Fitness remains to be seen but so far King hasn't missed a beat.

Ok seriously, anyone even entertaining the prospect of Judd lining up on Riewoldt deserves to only watch Sydney games.

Do you have any idea of the gravity of what you are suggesting? What it might do to a true footy fan? How it might affect a developing young supporter or vulnerable, easily upset pensioner? Most people would rather eat their own vomit than do that.
