Buckley's been the best Collingwood player over the last 20 odd years.

Even in a heavy loss, or in seasons that we didn't go so well, you look at Buckley's stats in games and see 25 odd touches, 6 tackles, 8 marks and 3 or so goals and you just have to admire him as a footballer, no one could ever question his endeavor and what he always tried to do to get his team over the line.

Judd's no slouch though, but I think Buckley has been the greater footballer. He could easily overtake him by the end of his career though.

id say buckley averaged more touches, did more with the touches, better skills, better mark, better goal kicker, stronger, tougher, better leader, both are/were very good one on one players.

judds quicker, more evassive, better line breaker.

buckley by a fair way.

Judd is more exciting with his abillity to accelarate away from an opponent but Buckley's disposal was 3 classes above. If it is quarterback/playmaker type of midfielder that you want, then Bucks hands down.

If you want lace out disposal to leading forward up to 60M then bucks

If you want a flashy quick 3 step breakaway and an errant 30M pass then of course go for Judd.

Judd has not gone past Buckley but I think he is a strong chance to do so by the end of his career.

Buckley is too underrated on BigFooty.

Judd's career has reached greater heights than Buckleys and his best football has been better than Buckleys for a greater period.

Two Brownlows at two clubs (should have had more), a Premiership and a Norm Smith that he clearly deserved.

Jesus Christ. LRT clearly deserved that medal. Every time I rewatch that game I'm more and more mystified as to why he didn't.

he also won a brownlow he clearly didnt deserve, buckley was unlucky brownlow night on more than on occassion, also has a norm smith (in a losing team), remember, buckleys very best form was when he was 28+, was still a star before hand though, judd will need to not only keep up his current form but improve it in coming years to compare to buckley.

both champions, no doubting that, ive always stated judds best was better, i reckon judds best was better than anyone ive seen TBH, but injury has taken its toll, OP isnt easy to get over and he's done a brilliant job at the blues considering, isnt as good as he was but we still see camios from the man, they only last for a half or so now days though, who knows, he could keep improving, still a young man really but if he were to retire today buckley would have to be in front, buckley was a resiliant bugger, hardly ever injured and had longevity at a very high standard.

footskills are starting to hurt judd a tad, i blame the OP for that, he used to have very good disposal, if he can improve that and lenghen his camios he'll become the best player in the comp again IMO.
